You may be factually correct, however I'd say indirectly the energy brought by Les played a role in getting it done sooner rather than later.

Bradley SOS from JPalm's site at collegerpi.com (which only goes back to the 93-94 season). I threw in the dotted line when JL took over after Mo was let go (I believe).

      94: 201
      95: 89
      96: 60
      97: 117
      98: 115
      99: 75
      00: 50
      01: 123
      02: 130
      -------------------------------------------------------------
      03: 114
      04: 156
      05: 81
      06: 50
      07: 21
      08: 76 (currently)

Nice to know we are just lucky at Bradley to have such large support. No other reason than just being (SHOCKINGLY) VERY LUCKY.

I disagree. The success of the basketball team brought in revenue to the school and generated a rejuvinated fanbase into more donations. To say that the basketball coach had no affect on that is rediculous.

A winning team helps but these plans were in the works before JL got the job. Donations did go up after we went to the sweet 16 but this project was going to happen either way.
            Can we start winning soon?

The coach also plays a big part in raising money from donors, which can have a lot to do with just who the coach is. Finally, I thought when Les was hired, he specifically stated new facilities as one of his personal goals.

How many other communites offer the kind of support Peoria does? As Tornado has pointed out dozens of times even in winning years BN doesnt support ISU the same way. Peoria is not a collge town and is somewhat fortunate to get the overwhelming support it does.

That may be the case, but I still think it's naive to say that the coach of the bball team doesn't have anything to do with the new facilities being built. Coach Les is personable, and through succeses like the Sweet 16 year, the university has benefited greatly, and that goes beyond the facilities that are being built.

Good for them for calling out the fans, it's a shame they can't even fill the arena when the team is good.

Fan reaction comes with it's own hysteresis. Seems people can no longer stand far enough away from an issue to understand the whole picture. Support will grow as long as a team continues to win. ISU fans have been fooled before.

I think all of us would agree that we expected to make a run at the conference championship and not be talking about a chance at playing on thurs. night in ST.Louis; this team has under achieved for a number of reasons and I believe both the players and the coaching staff are to blame ; hopefully they will get their act together as they still have a chance to salvage the season, coach Les is responsible for helping raise a lot of money so BU could get their new facilities started earlier rather then much later , I think it is pre-mature to start comparing him to our last coach and even though I do not totally agree with his starting lineup I still support him and believe once the new facility is done Bradley will have a chance at getting more top notch players. Lets beat Creighton on saturday .

I may be the only one here that thinks this, but I think we have a good chance of being a better team next year. It will either be painful or fun to watch. Without Ruffin or Crouch new team leaders will step up and some of the players will grow up alot. I don't know about you guys, but I keep seeing a positive bright future for Bradley Basketball, and I think it is still moving in the right direction.

The last scholarship would have to go to a four year player.
It doesn't really matter because we will never get that player w/ the type of offense Les is running right now...

No big man will want to come here after seeing our games w/ our guards who never pass the ball into the low post, and our coach who doesn't really even run an offense where he has a low post presence
