  • Indiana NCAA Sanctions

Interesting....Ratliff leaves team after being ineligible during the first semester and Sampson is told he can't have any ineligible players on the team and is under even more allegations....

Sounds like Indiana kicked him off the team to save Sampson's cheating tail. Indiana will make the allegations public tomorrow.

This ncaa investigation is a joke as they are not going to do anything until summer which means that Indiana has cheated their way to the tournament; once again a bcs school gets away with it.

Waiting until this summer means they can go to the tournament and play against teams that didn't cheat to get their players....pathetic.

Here is more- Indiana will publically reveal the NCAA's list of violations and their initial response today. But the NCAA won't make a ruling on any punishment until after a June hearing. Indiana has until May 8 to respond to these allegations.

There are reportedly 5 "major" violations involving Coach Sampson providing "false or misleading information" to the school and NCAA investigators--

Likely the end of Sampson's career in the college ranks. An all time low for even Sampson.

I don't understand why people think the NCAA is going to do anything to Sampson. The school might fire him but the NCAA will not do anything to him.If there not going to do anything to USC football they won't do anything to IU basketball.

The NCAA can't really do anything to Sampson, but no school will hire him after this. He'll go the way of Jim Harrick, Dave Bliss, and Fran Fraschilla - Coaching pariahs in the college ranks. Luckily for Fraschilla he's been able to find work as a color analyst for ESPN, likely because of his east coast roots.

In regards to USC, the NCAA hasn't gone this far with them yet, likely because Pete Carroll isn't at the center of problems and isn't thumbing his nose at them along the way. That, and they're the dominant college football program in America.
              Onward and Upward!

The USC problem is the same problem that the U of MI had with Webber except this time it was not a booster who gave Bush money but an agent. Now how does a University control that? NCAA will punish a University if the infraction was under their control. They could punish the student if he was still playing.

This is correct but some people will never accept that, mostly rival schools fans.

The coaching staff sent Bush to that agent. The Staff knew what kind of house is was living in and what kind of car Bush was driving.

                      Another question

Could Indiana self impose a post season ban this year, if so it would be in their best interest to do so.

Why would IU do that when nothing is going to happen to them but a slap on the wrist.

IMO this is much more serious than a slap n the wrist.

Now stop with the NCAA coddles BCS schools conspiracy....

I agree.....................And based on all the rumors floating around I have got to think IU will take the high road and fire/forced resignation/buyout Sampson. This is a program with a long-standing reputation for honesty.

I really think the other shoe drops sooner (no pun intended) rather than later. This is the end for Kelvin Sanctions
