For some reason players like and make a high percentage of shots from the corners. This is true at all levels. Technically, it is a lower percentage shot than from the top of the circle or the wings, but I'll bet the overall percentage is very similar.
It may be because players practice the shot from the corners a lot.

Theoretically, a corner shot may be closer (due to the flat arch)?
Rebounding is a corner shot is much less predictable, and given how bad our rebounding is, corner shots may result in us overall getting fewer points per posession.

The corner shot is not the issue. It's as good of an open shot as a wing 3 or top of the key 3. I'd be willing to bet we shoot a very similar % from the corner as we do from the top and wings. The rebound is actually more predictable than shots from the wing or top of the key. Corner shots will traditionally bounce long to the opposite side since there is no backboard to stop it. Smart rebounders establish position on the opposite block as soon as a corner shot goes up. It's an easy rebound if you establish position early. But, we've never been a good or smart rebounding team so I am not surprised that we don't corral the corner misses.

DaCoach, I really like the idea of having an ignore option on the site. I might have most of the posters blocked. Haha just kidding. But on a serious note, I have not been on this site just for that reason. Most of you may know that AW is my son and it is very hard for me to log onto the site and read all of the harsh and critical comments about him. Keep in mind part of his slump could be due to some coaching strategies which are not designed for him. Keep in mind he is no DA or JJ and has more shooting range than the corner shot. Any true player knows that if your shot is not dropping the corner shot is not what you need to keep shooting. I am not denying that AW needs to get stronger and be more consistent. But when you have fans saying they have given up on him that hurts. Real fans stay with their team to the end. So when he starts taking over the team and really helping the Braves win, those of you who had given up on AW don't jump back on the bandwagon!

DUBrave5 a quick question is where did you find that basketball rug w/ BU on it? i have one w/ I on it but would love to have one w/ BU to cover up that I although my kids and grandkids probably woul;d make me keep it out somewhere.

I got it off of eBay but can't find anymore of them
