  • Blizzard in Terre Haute

We are about 30 miles north of Terre Haute, and the weather until now has not been bad. But we are now encountering blizzard conditions with heavy snow and wind. We have had to cut our speed down to about 35 mph, but we have plenty of time.
I anticipate the attendance won't be very good tonight if it continues like this. I hope everyone, including the team bus which will return to Peoria tonight, drives safely.

Odd, most of Southern IN has avoided the blizzard in favor of freezing rain.

Weather.com radar looks clear in Terre Haute right now (motion showed snow going through)

If you came in from the south on I-70, it is clear (current precip, I do not know about snow on the ground) If you are going south on 41 to Terre Haute you are not clear until you actually hit Terre Haute...

Hopefully the combination of a Tuesday night with not much college basketball action (which should mean better officials), the Sycs losing 8 of 10 virtually assuring themselves of the play-in round, and inclement weather will make the Hullman Center as 'neutral' of a court as a league road game can be. As long as BU got there on time and was able to get in their normal afternoon shootaround, I think things are working in our favor.
        Onward and Upward!

The snow did clear up as we rolled into Terre Haute. It must have been just a narrow band of snow.

Gotta get some tickets. Go Braves!

I think you caught the end of the system. The main snow band on radar looks "narrow" only if you consider Terre Haute to Toronto to NYC "narrow"... And the entire Precip band goes down to the Gulf...

            Enough weather, Go Braves!
