SIU is ahead of Creighton after winning earlier in the season in Carbondale.

watching the siu @ CU game tonight shows that CU is in the hunt for 2nd with some very good atheletes....the Braves need to finish out strong could still secure 3rd IMO!

I think 3rd or 4th for CU is more likely. CU has 3 of 5 remaining conference games on the road (@ UE, @ BU, @ ISU), like BU. CU still has to travel to ISU, and I don't see them winning there. I personally think it comes down to the 2 BU-CU matchups for 3rd and 4th. SIU I think will end up 5th or 6th.

Some will say they'd rather have the #4 seed than the #6 because the supposed '3-6 Death Match', but the facts say that's more myth than anything. While the 3 seed did lose in the semifinals 6 years in a row from 99-04, history tells me that the 3 seed gives us a better chance of winning the tournament than the 4. Since moving to St. Louis 17 years ago, the 3 seed has made the title game 7 times, winning 5 times (most recently CU 2005). Only once (2006) has the 3 seed not won it's first game, while the 4 seed has lost to the 5 seed 3 of the last 4 years.

Scratch all that in depth analysis.... I think BU finishes in the 4/5 slot and I think we have a better chance of winning on Saturday vs Drake than vs ISU.

My gut agrees with you, but the numbers over nearly 2 decades of Arch Madness don't. Only one 4 seed and one 5 seed have ever won the tournament, and that 5 seed was Indiana St over our Braves in 2001. The #2 and #3 seeds have won 12 of 17 MVC Tournaments in St. Louis. I'm all for making history, but I also would like a little bit of history on our side.
