  • Recruiting/Transfer question

If recruits sign with a school during the early signing period and the coach is then fired, are they usually released from the signing. Or is it still binding?

I am asking this Re: Northwestern. I realize most kids that would go there are going for the school itself, but Bradley at one time recruited a couple of the signees.

If a kid wants out after a firing of a coach the school would most likely let them out ot their LOI.... the AD usaully has something to say about this....they might want the kid to wait until a replacement is named but most cases the athelete is let go if requested!

Mike is correct, the Letter of Intent is still binding, even if the coach leaves or is fired. But most schools or new coaches will release a kid if he doesn't want to come.

I know what this all means. So hang in there MR, when Sampson gets fired, you can get out of your LOI.... maybe W Illinois will still have a scholarship open at that time.

          Like your style MMob...

I was thinking along the lines of the New Jersey Institute of Technology though.
          Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
