It happened 30 feet in front of me, and it was correct. If you want him to keep getting technicals and keep giving forearm shoves to opposing players, go ahead.
Dude - were you like sitting right next to me? Cause I mighta been about 30 ft away too.
Anyway... Looked like MS threw an extra elbow in the chest AFTER he got the T. So he got two in for the price of one.

I concur. I was in the front row of the student section and saw it and couldn't believe that people around me hadn't noticed it. It was a blatant forearm shove and it just shows that he lets his emotions get the best of him too much. Hold onto the ball and he would have nothing to get frustrated about.

It was so blatant and obvious that Dave, Chuck, and Coach Stowell all thought he got multiple fouls called on him. A similar play nearly cost us the home ISU game. But yeah, keep playing the same way Matt.

Stay aggressive, Matt. Stay classy. Technical fouls are neat!!!
Why didnt Singh see any minutes in the last 10? Why do you play 5 guards for the entire last 8 minutes of a game? Why do you continue to play a zone, allow open 3's get hammered on the boards and when you do get a stop or offensive possession you take shots within the first 10 seconds of the possession. If you are going to play a zone why not put your biggest player Collins in the game and have him just sit in the lane at the rim?
This was a win, but it was a very painful and I hope very upsetting win for our staff and our team. We played ZERO defense in the last 12 minutes of the game. We allowed 49 points not in just the second half but in the last 17 minutes of the half. We turned the ball over again tonight at an alarming rate, and were out rebounded.
Matt Salley it is very simple get someone to get physical with him and he will lose his cool and do nothing but hurt his team. He is a headcase, doesnt take much to intimidate him and make him very defensive and agitated.
JL should feel very lucky to win this game, he was out coached and we were out played by a team that has nowhere near the talent we have. Congrats to Berry Hinson and his team for not quiting.
Three other questions, if anyone know the answers:
(1) What happened to Sam S and his not really playing in the second half--especially with RA being out? I figured Austin was sick since he stayed in the locker room and Dave and crew mentioned the bug going around, but what about Sam S since Jim at least appears agreeable to playing him some?
(2) What the blank was up with staying in the zone when we were getting our hat handed to us by staying in it--even getting pounded inside while in it? Reminded me of last 10 of the Drake game--like the coach's mind went AWOL. At least this time he has a fever as an excuse
(3) Has DC turned into a lepper, regressed into an inept *****************[ok who deleted this? and added the astricks? I clearly was not calling him names per sey, but it was sarcasm directed at the coaches...the point was to draw a contrast between reality and about the only extreme rationales they would ahve to insist on not playing bigger] or does he just do such a real good job of keeping his seat warm that it just would not benefit the team to actually let him off the bench at play?
I don't think you sit in the student section, Mob.
No... I left the student section probably just a couple years after you were born.
But that may explain the elbows seen. I didn't see the first one but could tell there was some kinda contact.... with MS's back to you and facing more toward me as the Ref was conveying the technical info... *whamo* MS throws an elbow to the chest with some words.... then Refs run in to make sure there isn't an all out brawl.

Outplayed? Are you sure? We led by 29 points early in the second half. I'd say that's quite the opposite of being outplayed.
With that said, BU's play in the last 15 minutes was puke. And congrats to Berruh's team for not quitting. I honestly hope that's not the last time I see him here. He's been one of the best guys for this league in the last decade.
Anyone who saw the game would not think Bradley was outplayed. MSU began hitting a bunch of long 3-pointers, and Bradley's shots in the second half were mostly great shots that were just barely missing. That's what tightened up the game. Things have a way of swinging one way, then another, but I don't think anyone in the crowd was worried, Bradley dominated play throughout. As much as I like Barry, his coaching had nothing to do with it.
Wow, that game had me thinking of the Vandy game the last 10 minutes of the game. If we could do it, why can't they? These funks happen from time to time, the good thing is, the rebounds were relatively even, had +16 FT attempts and all of the starting lineup contributed except for the centers. We only shot 40% and still put up 80+ points, thats tough to beat any day no matter how porous the D is at times. As for Austin, he really took a blow on the charge he took. He came up dazed and motioned for Les to take him out but Les just waved him to go up the court. He came out on the next possession I believe. That could of had an affect on his sickness or maybe a slight concussion who knows. As for Salley, I think MSU needed a good shove for the elbow to the jaw that Crouch took and wasn't called. As for aggressiveness, thats one thing I would like to see from Salley and Singh. They get the ball at the FT line multiple times a game with at least 4-5 feet of free space to the hoop but they just pass it back out for the 3. Opposing teams know that it's going back out so we need to exploit it. Several times tonight I was like, go go but they pass it back out. Either way, it was a good to get another win and we'll see what happens at ISU. I'm willing to accept a loss Saturday but I think we can pull it off as BU has played teams 100% better the 2nd time around.

They may have been open shots, but that doesn't mean they were 'good' shots. We took several ill-advised shots very early in the shot clock at a time where we should have been running at least 20 seconds off the clock. Chuck Buescher made similar comments several times in the 2nd half. Our small lineup and zone defense also really took the intensity away from our club and allowed a team that was far inferior to us to chop a 29 point lead down to 9. Worried about the outcome? Probably not. Frustrated at the poor play in the 2nd half? Yes.

MSU's intensity, especially on the defensive end did pick up big time, and we were rushing shots at times (hard to use that phrase, though, given how we can shoot...ie., an open shot by the right player is a shot we probably should take). Also, although I think Daniel should get consideration as league MVP down the stretch (see other comments), he threw some runners up tonight that were uneccessary. The persistence of staying in the zone was a real odd one, though. Were multiple guys sick and tired so we let them rest in a zone? That would be about the only reason (bad, but a reason) I can think of. I t helped let them back into the game.
Oh well, it was a win, and it can help build the guys confidence, and it is another notch toward the NIT unless we win the MVC tourney
