        Makes perfect sense to me.

Miami of Ohio has an RPI of 72.

Bradley has an RPI of 99

They pretty much determine the match-ups using the RPI, why not use it for the TV games too?

You're right CPac about the RPI being a tool to determine matchups and TV games.

But I also think ESPN tries to show teams that could "bust the bracket". IMO, that means... a middle level team in a conference with a good RPI doesn't get preference over a team likely to win their Conf and get the automatic by winning their tourney. ESPN wants to take credit of a team in the 125 RPI range getting covered on BracketBuster day if they win their Conference/Conference Tourney and scare someone in the NCAA tourney (or maybe even win).

With that all said... then I guess ESPN thinks Vandy/Mia-Oh have a better chance of winning their automatic bid than Bradley/Wisc-Mil.... and being more of a scare in the NCAA tourney.

I think you guys are both somewhat right CPAC and MMob - but Rider and CS-Northridge are both 100+ RPI teams...... plus, don't have much basketball history.... UWM and BU have a lot more basketball and tournament success. No 2 ways about this... BU got the shaft....

Makes me wonder what we network we would have if we won on Sat.

Rider and CS-Nor are both leading/tied for the lead in their conferences.

                  Interesting - indeed.

Let's make ESPN regret their decision.

They're going to give the conference leaders more clout.

Oh well. Screwed by them in even years, helped in odd years. I sense a pattern
