Wow, this is not going to do anything for us in terms of boosting our resume. Why couldn't we draw somebody who's non sight impaired.

Who cares - our resume doesn't need boosting. We need to run out all the way through the regular season - it doesn't matter who we play. IMO, the winning streak and wins are more important.

What I'm not crazy about is having half our non-con games come from a single league. I mean, it's not like the Horizon is killing our RPI. But that's an awful lot of games tied up to a single league. And now to have 4 Horizon games ALREADY for next year is just killer.

I would have loved to switch UW-M with Nevada - better profile this year, solid road game next year.

Everyone complaining: Ok, who should we be playing? And who should we be ahead of in the pecking order to get these teams?

Perhaps there is a conspiracy to create one mega-league to be renamed the Missouri Horizon Valley Conference League.

At least it's TV exposure... well, hopefully (unless it's on espn360).

No, Les wants to move us to the Horizon... it's a conspiracy!

              Release from BUBraves.com

PEORIA, Ill. -- Having already played four Horizon League opponents on the road this season, Bradley (13-10) has drawn a fifth Horizon member, Wisconsin-Milwaukee (12-10), for the sixth annual O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters.? Bradley will host the Panthers Feb. 23 at Carver Arena as part of the 14-game national television package, although the game time and ESPN network will not be announced until next week.? Bradley and Wisconsin-Milwaukee have split the only two previous meetings in the series, both at Robertson Memorial Fieldhouse:? Bradley earned a 104-68 victory Dec. 1, 1965, while the Panthers earned a 74-72 win Dec. 7, 1972.? As part of the agreement to participate in the BracketBusters series, Bradley will visit Wisconsin-Milwaukee during the 2008-09 season.

I am not too thrilled with this selection either....but that's the problem with Bracketbusters. The last few years we played people that could help our resume. This year, we're on the other end of that. That is the nature of this tournament. The selections are designed to help a team or hurt a team, because (contrary to the philosophy of the tournament) all mid-majors are not created equal.

Don't take UWM lightly, they are rollin, they lost by only 2 at Wright St. Sat. and led most of the game.

                    Go UWM!!

UWM plays @ Butler on Feb 12th at 6PM and we can all watch it on ESPNU. If they could pull off this upset, and then beat the next 2 cupcakes they play, I would think they would have an RPI well inside the top 100.

So everyone tune in on the 12th and pull for UWM, theyre gonna need it.

Let's not dwell on the negatives too much.

Yea, yea... another Horizon team. They ARE the 10th best conference compared to (Nevada's) WAC at 18th.

The 10th best conference in the last 14 years has produced 2 bids 10 times and 3 bids twice. Bids have ranged from as high as a 5 seed once and 6 seed twice. Average seeds have been 10.25. That's TOP 40 in the eyes of the selection committee.

And we get to play an ascending team currently in the top 4 of the 10th best conference.

And we get to do it on the ESPN network.

A 5th Horizon team doesn't help the SoS - they all play each other, so our SoS dips closer and closer to .500.

I'd gamble on the WAC recovering next year.

                        And finally,

BB has not been very good to us. Actually, the last two years have been solid. But I still won't forgive them for a 150 RPI team trying to pop our bubble in '06.

It's only a worthless game if we win. If we lose it's worth a whole heckuva lot. For anybody out there that was holding out hope that we'd draw a team good enough to maybe, just maybe, give us a shot at a "quality win" for the resume (if any of those teams existed in the event?), you've gotta be pretty disappointed.

Let the "we gotta get out of the BracketBuster" posts begin.....

Well, every win the Valley gets will help the overall conference RPI. So winning this game will help everyone out, including us.

But talk about the MVC/Horizon challenge for us! Anyone else from that conference want to play us next year?

I'm afraid this bracketbuster will be a disaster. I think we can win and UNI should win, not certain what EIU has so maybe EU can win, but I think everyone else is way overmatched.

this matchup blows i agree.... however it is on tv and if we can blow this team out of the water and show some people how dominate we can be it could really help us....if we win a close game or something like that it wont really matter i dont think

As bad as anyone thinks Evansville is.... E Illinois isat least 2X worse... they are HORRIBLE.

Now that I said it... E Illinois upsets Evansville and I will eat crow.
