Ugh sure enough the year after I graduate they have two snow days. Thats ok I skipped MORE than enough classes to make up for snow days/holidays/martin luther king day/lincolns birthday/st patricks day/fridays.

I do remember when all the power went out randomly during the day. Everybody just started drinking.

Lets just say that this snow storm wasn't even close to warrant a full school day LOL. Maybe a half day but not the whole day. I think most of it had to do with Pres. Glasser and how much more she cares about the students than Broski. Either way, I got about 6-8 inches of snow in central Peoria and most of the snow was melting in the road by 11am today. As for Evansville's weather, it will be average winter weather there. They did however have a tornado last week that killed 2 people just west of the city but most of the city was spared damage. This same line of storms severely hit Louisville and parts of U of Louisville. No serious injs fortunately.

Why did some of the posts in this thread get deleted? I went through the rules and didn't see anything that would warrant deleting posts...maybe a mod can enlighten me? I forget who else but I know that posts by both me and Fetz are now gone. What gives?

Ninety-nine percent sure it was because of the discussion about a certain BU professor.

Several posts were removed because they specifically targeted a BU professor by name and were deemed to be quite negative without giving any reason.

Sorry everyone (and DC) for causing trouble. I couldn't resist the mention of a sociology paper!

Although if reasons for the negative comments were needed to keep the thread alive, I am sure we could have come up with some!

Understood...although I'm not sure about the "quite negative without giving any reason" part, I'm pretty sure it was quite obviously a joke about a professor who has a reputation around BU for not necessarily being among the students' favorite. And nothing (at least in the posts I saw before they were tossed) seemed very inflammatory to me. Not sure how that warrants censorship of speech..but then again i respect the fact that I am not the one in place to make that decision. I was just under then impression that this board was a little more tolerant than the pjstar boards that many of us probably came from...I left that board because they were deleting so many posts and threads...looks like the "ultra-sensitivity" isn't just limited to there.

Thanks MMob. Sure do remember walking those 3 miles to Spalding and back. Didn't seem to bother us then. We walked and talked with friends and made the best of it. Sure like the Arizona sun during the Winter now though.

I could never understand why when walking from Geisert to Bradley Hall the wind was in my face? When I returned from Bradley Hall to Geisert, the wind was again in my face. How can the wind blow in two directions at almost the same time?

I know...it is a Peoria thing. This thread has brought back some memories for me from the mid '80's.
