  • Missouri Valley Conference Standings - With Tiebreakers

As I promised, I've created a complicated excel sheet that automatically will calculate the conference standings as well as the ever-changing tiebreaking procedure. Rather than bore you with all of the different worksheets, here's the part everyone cares about (MVC Standings as of tonight, 1-31-08 ):

(If anyone would like a better explanation of how it works, either PM me or post in this thread.)

Thanks BUBraves2006. It's all so much clearer now!
          Let's keep winning!
BU- 3-0 since the return of Daniel Ruffin.

I've updated the spreadsheet. You won't like what the tiebreakers look like now (all the more reason we really need to keep winning).

GO BU! Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately I had to miss the game tonight but I heard it was a good one. Here's the sheet:

It's a bummer we lose the tiebreakers, but there is a lot of basketball left to be played and if we keep up our recent level of play we'll be better then sixth for sure.

That is the good thing about our schedule. We have games left against 4 teams ahead of us, 2 against CU, so we can dramatically change how the standings look! Just keep winning!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Yes, I am not too worried. Bradley is surging, while the others at 6-5 are all fading. 3 weeks ago (7 games ago), Bradley was alone in 9th place.

They have won 6 of 7, and the one they lost (the 1-pointer to Drake), is there anyone who doesn't feel we would have won that easily with Ruffin?

Not only would we have won the game against Drake but I feel that we would have also beaten N.Iowa and Wichita State which in turn would have put us in 2nd place and only 1 game out of 1st place.
