  • Stefhon Hannah - Mizzou - Even More Allegations/NCAA Violations

here is a little more, and one really interesting comment.

The bar in question where Hannah's jaw got broken, apparently has an agreement that NONE of the Mizzou players are allowed into the bar.
this rule also appears to apply to all the bars in the Columbia area.

"The TV report went on to say that the club has an agreement with Anderson that his players can eat in the restaurant but are not allowed in the bar.
Anderson, again, would not say whether he knew other players were at Athena at a time that was clearly later than the midnight curfew Lawrence cited for weekends.
???I think Coach called every single place and told them if they see any of us out past curfew to let him know,??? Lawrence said."

And the coach has a pretty strict curfew...
"Coach Anderson, I think, defined it well enough,??? Lawrence said. ???On the weekends being in our apartment by midnight. On weekdays in by 11."

    One other comment......
But on its 6 o??™clock newscast, KMIZ-TV in Columbia reported one of the bar??™s owners told them off camera that: ???Hannah was jumped outside the building and that some of his teammates tried to help him out.???

So much for the zero tolerance rule if everyone breaks it at will...

Yep. I thought about posting the story on the thread about our guys and mentioning how much more worse it could be and that we/they should just realize the mistakes, learn, and move forward. The story yesterday was more negative, especially if you note the bottom portion:

I remember Hannah well when he was in high school, and he did not get too much BCS-level interest.
But he played his cards right, and had a really good career at Chipola, then picked a D-I offer where he'd step right in, be the team leader, and get gobs of playing time.
This injury will effectively end his career, so that is what's so sad.....there has to be an effective way for the kids to be screened short of ankle bracelets, in order to keep this from happening.

I think that this is where your team captains have to play a larger role in making sure their teamates are not breaking any rules as the coaching staff is not with them after the games and after practice so they need to at least try to keep any bad situations from happening .

Expectably, Mizzou really struggled last night with much of their starting lineup suspended.
They lost at home to Nebraska, 66-62. Bloomington's Justin Safford got a lot of playing time for Mizzou, but only scored 2.
Ping made a cameo appearance and was scoreless.

Mizzou player is arrested in fight that led to Hannah's broken jaw.

Missouri guard Jason Horton was arrested on an assault charge connected to a weekend brawl that left his teammate with a broken jaw.

The evidence is strong enough to make the call right now, Coach Anderson,
Horton and the others who were at the bar at 1AM, in violation of your own "zero tolerance" team rules,
and who appear to have started this fight and are intimately involved in this brawl....
                they should all be dismissed.

Your mess there at Mizzou is beginning to make Quin Snyder look like a good, honest coach!

Now Stefhon Hannah is kicked off the team...and both Hannah and Jason Horton are charged with assault....

"Hannah, who was arrested last Friday, was dismissed from the Missouri basketball team Tuesday for missing two weeks of class while nursing his broken jaw at home in Chicago."

                      but ....
"Missouri coach Mike Anderson said earlier in the week that if Horton were charged with assault, he would "deal with that in the future." However, team spokesman Dave Reiter said Horton will not face additional punishment despite being charged and is expected to play today against Kansas State."
"Horton served a two-game suspension and has played with the team since its Feb. 4 game at Kansas."
The rest of the players involved have all returned to the team.

Horton served 2 games suspension and is back playing full time with the team.

                        A new issue surfaces.........

One guy on his blog says that Stefhon Hannah and the other Mizzou basketball players frequented this particular night club because they got upwards of $200 in free food and drinks on a nightly basis. Then the night of the altercation, the Mizzou players were upset because they were denied free food and drink.
"the fight broke out when Hannah was denied gratis service...
....Every night there were issues with paying....Everything had to be free.???

If this is true, then let's see if the NCAA cares, since Mizzou is not a mid-major.
Dig me up if and when the NCAA ever cares about extra benefits at a BCS school.
By now most college basketball fans have either heard or read about the altercation involving five Missouri basketball players, since it ha...

Yet another story with a few new tidbits.........

Last year, police were called to Athena about 150 times, many of them because of gunshots or violence. Athena is one of Columbia's most notorious bars??”but one whose temptations college athletes cannot resist."
