Do I have to worry about competition from any of you if I email this guy and bid on the Dick Versace roll of T.P. he says he has and might put up for bids?A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

Has anyone stayed at the Pere Marquette lately? I won't stay there again. Stayed a night a couple years ago, and the room and hallway were the most filthy I have ever seen in a hotel. The entire place was badly in need of an upgrade. Plaster and paint were falling off the walls, and the room stunk so bad we had to ask for a room change.

A few years ago I stayed for a week in the Pere and had a room over looking the scenic alley between the hotel and Big Al's.
I was working for the hotel and found it to be in bad need of repair in the halls, but the room I had was not bad, nice in size and I thought pretty clean.
I never noticed any noise issue with the room I had. The Holiday Inn downtown was a nicer hotel as was the newer Radisson, formerly Jumers. In fact the Radisson chain as a whole might be for the money some best hotels around. The one in Moline across from the John Deere Musuem is one of if not the best in there entire franchise.

Actually a great amount of rooms on the Main St side of the Pere has bad noise issues from the bars. City Police constantly get complaints from the Pere residents for the bars to turn the music down. I did read last summer that the Pere was entering into a construction project to install sound proof windows or walls or something along those lines.
