North Dakota State University men's basketball coach Tim Miles has been offered the head coaching spot at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
There is talk that if Miles takes the NC-W job, that NDSU will pursue Jim Molinari.


Less than two weeks after he was hired April 6 to complete the University of Cincinnati coaching staff, Darren Savino, a native of Jersey City, N.J., has left to become an assistant coach at Rutgers under new coach Fred Hill.

Not likely to be any more coaching changes, but here is the tally for 2006.

53 head coaches lost their jobs, 49 new hires, with four positions still to be filled (Brown, Central Michigan, New Orleans, St. Peters).

That's 16% of all D-I coaches replaced this year, many new hires being the guys who were lured away from the other schools.

One of the Wichita State assistants has left to take an assistant position at Northwest Missouri State, a D-II school in Maryville, MO.
To me this seems like a step down, especially after a Sweet Sixteen run, but maybe he's getting more coaching duties or more $$.

He was administrative assistant at WSU. He will have coaching and recruiting duties in his new position, a big step up in responsibilities.
