Do we really want to use our last scholarship on another guard (2 star)? It's getting pretty crowded back there and I'm sure AT, Egolf, and Singh could use a little help.

Have we not seen how very, very important it is to have at least a couple backup point guard options. Thankfully our coach knew that
(unlike a couple nearby schools that suffered severely the past couple years because of NO point guard options),
and recruited well enough to protect us from he consequences of the unexpected loss of DR.
I say let JL get what he needs, and if we can steal Tennessee's point guard of the future, I can live with that!

I agree backup point guards are crucial to a team's success, but I also think george makes a good point. The '06 Braves were much, much stronger in the frontcourt and could control the glass more easily. That being said, JL has watched AT practice every day and I know he's very high on him. I hope he can be the kind of force POB was in the post and negate the need for a bunch of role-playing big men.

I like how Jim positions AT as a potential 4. That leaves the recruiting option open to still get a stronger, bigger 5 with lots of potential PT...

If you mean win in the NCAA tournament, then yes, I totally agree we need good bigs. But, we're not at that point yet where we are at least on the Bubble every season.

Also, we don't need good bigs to win in the Valley. If you need an example ... check out a team called the Drake Bulldogs. You need good team defense, a commitment to rebounding and good shooters. If you look at our recent run, that's why we've been successful.

But more big guys would certainly help in the long run!
            Go Braves!

i think we need a 2 or 3 man freshman for our last scholarship. if you look at our freshman and sophomore classes for next season we have a point guard and a center, and a point guard and a center. we have nobody between 6'0" and 6'9" to slash or take big shots.

don't even start about thompson being a potential 4. that will be in at least 2 years. we need some mid-sized guys for our 2012 class.

Didn't JL say on his radio show last night that AT will play the 5? We aren't getting anyone bigger than him to play the 5 that just won't happen. He will have to be the 5 and if he can face up...all the better.
