  • 10 Valley Games Remain

    I think BradleyBrave's comments about 7-3, 3-7 and now ten more to go (plus the Bracketbuster) are worthy of expanding this to a new thread.

    Here is the remaining conference schedule:
    Sat., 1/26 @ Wichita State
    Wed., 1/30 vs. Indiana State
    Sat., 2/2 @ Evansville
    Wed., 2/6 vs. Missouri State
    Sat., 2/9 @ Illinois State
    Tue., 2/12 @ Indiana State
    Sat., 2/16 vs. Creighton
    Tue., 2/19 @ Drake
    Sat., 2/23 Brackbuster (Non-conference)
    Tue., 2/26 vs. SIU
    Sat., 3/1 @ Creighton

    Obviously the easier stretch is the next six. I would be very disappointed if we lost any of the next four. We are better than all of these teams.

      That would be nice to be able to play Indiana State twice at home, but I am sure 06 just slipped on the Feb 12th game. It is in Terre Haute.

        What about Frost Bite Falls? Nobody should be made to go there either.

            I have said this for a few weeks now, we must win on Saturday, we must sweep Indy State, we must win at Evansville and we can not lose another home game. We have a huge hole we have dug to stay out of Thursday night, but we can control that by winning.

            I dont expect to win every game but if the above happens I believe we will stay out of Thursday. I really think alot of what happens on Thursday depends on Indiana State. They have 5 straight very difficult games ahead of them

            @ISU
            @Bradley
            Drake
            @SIU
            @WSU

            I put WSU in there because the Sycamores have yet to prove they can win on the road.

            They could go from 5-3 to 5-7 very quickly.

            UNI is also a good choice to see Thursday they are currently 4-4, but their next 5 are:

            @Drake
            ISU
            SIU
            @CU
            @MSU

            They then host WSU, but then have

            Drake
            @SIU

            They could easily lose 5 straight then win one then lose 2, that would put them solid into Thursday.

            Regardless of anyone else we have to win our games. But slides by these two teams wont hurt.

              There's a comic in every group ...

              Anyway, it's been corrected to reflect the proper schedule.
              Go Braves!

                That is true Murph. That would make for a good poll. Which city is the worst Valley roadtrip.

                Only good thing about going to Terre Haute is hitting the Beef House.

                  Say Bradley somehow goes 7-3 and wins the bracketbuster to finish the season 18-13. We all know what they would have to do to get to the NCAA, but would they have a chance at the NIT if they won a few in STL?

                  Or what is the deal with that other tournament?

                  I am hoping to God we pull it out in St. Louis, but I'd like to think that by finishing strong there are still other post season avenues to keep the consecutive post season runs going.

                    it's definitely possible for us to go 8-3 to finish out but i'd think it's safe to say that it may be the best possible scenario. i think we'd make the NIT if we did that for sure. also, if we do that we will for sure stay out of thursday for the MVC tourney in St. Louis. go do it braves!

                      With road games still to be played at ISU, IndyState(they have not lost at home in conference and have beaten both CU and SIU) Creighton, and Drake along with tests at WSU and Evansville the likely hood of us going 8-3 even with Ruffin is not likely.

                      We also still have MSU, CU and SIU at home.

                      We have a very tough road ahead.

                        It is a tough road, and I'll follow every game hoping we're equal to the task. GO BRAVES! I'm rooting for 11-0, but "prepared" for something more like 6-5.

                          I have to say that Da Coach and I went to "Frost Bite Falls" (and yes it was snowing) and we had a really good time! Ate at a nice sports bar.....met up with a couple of posters....and came back with a W! It's not as bad as everyone thinks IMO!

                            Except for the stop sign we slid through! Glad there wasn't any traffic there! It is a nice place to spend a few hours.

                              I think that 7-4 is a real possibility over the next 11. That would put us at 17-14...not great, but about what I expected at the beginning of the season. I still think we have a good chance in STL...IF we stay out of Thursday night. But 1-1 or 2-1 down there puts us in the NIT for sure, IMO.
                              Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.
