  • #25 Baylor/#18 TX A&M 5 Overtime game

Not really much to comment from my end on this other than it would of been one hell of a game to watch. Those players will sleep good tonight LOL.

Oh come-on, how can you play a heated rival type of game to 5 OT's with no T's

That's pretty amazing! I have never been to a 5-OT game, let alone a 2-OT game. Thanks for the link!

Wow, what a crazy game. Congrats to Baylor, seems like they have really turned it around after the ruin that the program was in a few years ago.

5 overtime games are very rare.
The record for the longest game in NCAA history is 7 overtimes.
And, as many BU fans know, it was between Bradley and Cincinnati Dec. 21, 1981 at the Fieldhouse. How many fans here were at that game?

I missed it! One of the rare home games I missed in the last 40 years, I was at my office Christmas party that night, but I watched it on TV. I still have it on video tape, but it is a Sony beta tape!
I made sure we never scheduled Christmas parties on nights of Bradley games after that year!

I was at that marathon... From past threads, I know that there were a couple of posters there as well.

I was there, and Cincy had Mike Williams, who later transferred to BU

Did anybody score in the first four minutes of any overtime session in that game back in '81? It looks like Bradley scored 12 points in the 35 extra minutes.

There was no shot clock in those days. Both teams held the ball for long periods in the overtimes, hoping to get the last shot.
