We have played the leagues best and worst team (record wise) to a one point decision in the last two games.....

    And that means...........................

The talent in the league from top to bottom is equal?

OR......we can play with anybody in our league?

It means that if our 3's are falling it will keep the game close, if not then we'll be blown out. We have zero inside game, miss half the layups that we attempt when it does get inside and have near zero defense, especially inside. I havn't seen such poor defense over this long a period in a very long time.

I agree with Jason and I do not see anything the team can or will do to fix this. It seems JL is staying the course with MS playing considerable time with a small lineup. I believe with DR back our D improves because he is the only player that can cover man 2 man like white on rice. The problem with our system right now is that we do not have the guys to apply the pressure to create consistant TOs for easy baskets.

There is a great deal more parity in the league than most people realize. The "lowly Aces" as Wessler calls them, are a lot better than their record. They have played most of the teams in the league tough. Marty is getting every thing that is there. And Drake is not as good as their record. Someone soon will figure out their point guard never shoots from the perimeter. They are about the 5th or 6th best team we've played. At full strength we beat them 5 out of 10 times. I predict some disappointing times in their future. They won't win the league.
Our season hinges on avoiding Thursday. If we can do that, I'll take our chances against any body we play in St. Louis. I'm optimist enough to believe some one of our bigs is going to emerge to give us a little inside presence. And Ruff will improve our defense immensely.

          GO BU.

I'm always amused when someone says a team is better than its record.

I can say that my fantasy football team was better than my record this season LOL. I had the 2nd most points scored but the most points scored against and still managed to finish 2 games above 500. Unfortunately that doesn't follow in real life. You can score all the points you want but if your defense sucks then your record follows right behind it. Bradleys poor defense and lack of inside game shows why we are 2-5 in the Valley. Ruff will help a little bit but not much.

I have never bought into this philosophy in sports. We have been consistently inconsistent all year and I think things will remain the same going into the tournamant. Hope I am wrong.

I hope that includes teams we've played in the non-conference because if you're only talking about MVC teams, you don't think anything of them because we've only played six teams.

Give them some credit, for crying out loud. They're 16-1, unbeaten in the conference and have a 15-game winning streak. You predict some disappointing times in their future??? What does that mean? They'll lose a few conference games? They may not win the league, but they'll be a top-3 team.

And no more talk about playing them "at full strength." Please. They were missing their top scorer too.

Yes, I'm referring to our non-conference. And as far as "full strength", you can have Josh Young, I'll take Ruff.
And, yes, they probably finish in the top third, but I'd much rather play them in St. louis, than SIU or Creighton.

Gotta disagree here Tough Guy. Teams have had plenty of time to figure out Drake......Give these guys some credit! No one respected BU in Hersey's last season and look what happened.....Drake is winning a lot of close games like that BU team (though I think they're nowhere near that level )

Coming to the PCC and beating BU is no easy task and they did it there and have won elsewhere. I, for one, hope their "fairy tale" season (Bill Clinton would like that reference ) continues. It makes a great story for The Valley in an otherwise down and boring year.

Ummm...it used to be a difficult thing to do...this year winning at Carver isn't really a feather to put in anyone's cap. Once you lose to UNI and Wichita State at home, I'm pretty sure you lose the ability to say that winning in your building is difficult.

That by the 17th overtime period on Wednesday, the officials will call the ISU game a draw.
