Oh come on, don't spoil their fun! Leave the facts out of this...

But their fans have to watch that offense every game.

That would explain it. Not that I am saying all people from Chicago are like this, but a good deal of kids I meet from Chicago are quite arrogant and ignorant.

When you grow up around Chicago, 99.9% of athletics coverage in the media is pro.
I grew up in a northern 'burb, frequently listened to 670 (started when it was all news) and have absolutely no recollection of the '89 Flying Illini when it happened. (Even though I considered UIUC as a top academic college choice)

Have you seen the guys that Illinois has coming in, in the next three years. You Bradley fans only wish you could have the guys that we have. Alex Legion, Stan Simpson, Crandall Head, Jeremy Richmond, Tyler Griffey, DJ Richardson, Joseph Bertrand, Brandon Paul. The '09 Illini are already calling eachother and talking Final Four, because they are that good. We could be seeing another group of Flying Illini. When Les and BU go to a Final Four then BU will get my respect, but until you have done so like Bruce, BU is nothing and The Valley is nothing.

I know you've got to be real proud of your "success" these past few years.

Seems like the Illini ALWAYS has a ton of great new talent coming in...................let's see them learn to win with it.

That is quite a nice list of recruits.
But it sounds like you are saying we should just award the 2009 NCAA title to the Illini. They are already assuming they are in the Final Four!
Are you so sure all those recruits will be at Illinois in 2 years? Or that Bruce Weber will?
And recall that past recruits like Richard Semrau and Brian Carlwell were high rated recruits when they signed with Illinois, but never contributed and are likely now gone. A lot can change in the next couple years. I wish Illinois well, but I wouldn't be counting on the NCAA Final Four just yet.

You are the classic example of everything that is wrong with college basketball, and you're the reason many Illini fans get a bad reputation. I'm a huge fan of both schools, and you'll be hard pressed to find someone who knows more about Illini hoops, but I don't talk my team up like that, especially after we had such a pathetic year. Yeah, UI has more recruiting resources than Bradley, but I might respect your opinion if you actually knew anything about BU.

As an Illinois fan first (and Bradley fan second), I agree that comments like the one above do nothing but give Illini fans a bad name. Educated basketball fans wouldn't make comments like, "BU is nothing" and "the Valley is nothing." The Valley is clearly one of the best (if not THE best) non-BCS conferences.

I do agree that Illinois should be back on track next year after a disappointing season, and don't like seeing all the swipes taken at Illinois while they are down, but there's no reason for good Illinois fans to take swipes at Bradley like that.

I support both schools equally, but I couldn't agree more with what you've said. I don't understand why Illinois fans would ever take a swipe at BU. I hate "ugly BCS fans". I also agree that UI will be back next year.
