Same response basically. Coach's "designed play" gets botched for 1 reason or another and players improvised ALL THE TIME. (I am not saying Bradley and Milliken are the same - I am saying... players react in live games and make live decisions that stray from the set play). And maybe this is part of Bradley's problem which can be 2-fold... 1 - Ruffin would be the decision maker that everyone followed, and 2 - so many new players trying to adapt to one another as well as the high level of Div 1 play.

Funny.... if BU eeks out the win over Drake... are we discussing any of this?

    The sky is not falling.

Sit back - YES! - SIT BACK!!!.... and enjoy watching Bradley Basketball and these fine young men grow before your very eyes at a top level of competition.
Finally someone who understands-I love it-you are so right if they win JL would have just done masterful job of coaching

So you are saying that it is the players fault as they are not doing what they are told .

If we look back at posts from last year, I am sure that there were a lot
of comments about how well coached we were.... The strength of this team is with the YOUNG players.

Sometimes the players have every intention of doing what the coach tells them to do but the other team "takes away" what they are trying to accomplish......it's a constant game of adjustments....I think BU needs to do a better job of making these adjustments.

ER3 you are 100% right in the staff makes a lot of money and it is their job to make changes, adjustments, or whatever else it takes to win games and none of us have said that we could do a better job ; we just expected them to do one because they are the ones that said this team had the most talent of any team so far since I have been here ; if you don"t have ideas on how to make changes and that things are ok like they are ,then you probably do not care as much as the rest of us do about winning .

                  Someone who finally understands what?
If we win that Drake game, I would have been incredibly happy that we were able to pull out an ugly win against a quality opponent. I would have been extremely happy for Maniscalco as he would have single-handedly bailed out Theron and the coaching staff and stolen a win for BU.
But to say that the win would have been due to the fact that Les did a 'masterful job of coaching' would have been a laughable statement.
We had a 7 point lead with 3:30 to go in the game...then we got pressed and had no answer for it on three separate occasions...We gave up an uncontested layup on an inbounds pass under Drake's basket...three turnovers and a complete breakdown on defense and that lead was gone in the blink of an eye.
You can contend that Les and his staff drew up unbelievably perfect plays to beat Drake's press, and it was the players' faults for not executing them properly...but it didn't appear that way to me. I'll just say that sitting there in Carver watching BU implode and give away a 7 point lead in embarrassing fashion late in that game...my one thought was, this does not look like a team that was very well-prepared for the adjustments Drake made in the last 3:30 of the game...
SM almost bailed them out, and I would most certainly have been on the board signing the praises of our freshman point guard after the game...but no, I would not have been in agreement with anyone that tried to say that Les did a 'masterful job' of coaching in that game.
