Lots of people have disagreed about some of the coaches' (that's plural) decisions, but I don't remember anyone saying or even implying they could do a better job than the current staff. Fans can't be a little ticked that a team that was picked to finish second in the league has stunk up the place for much of the last month? And please, no more excuses about Daniel Ruffin being hurt.

God forbid people have an opinion on something here that isn't all puppies and rainbows...

There was a thread on this board that SAID who they wouldve wanted in the game and what they would have done had they have been the coach...but yeah no one is saying they could do a better job? Second guessing a highly qualified coach IS in essence saying you can do a better job.

Voice an opinion...yes...but consistantly critize the coaching is absurd and pointless. Just because you watch this team play twice a week for 3 hours each week doesn't mean you know even half of what you think you know about the team!!!

Hey 10 you have another good post and it was a previous post that ypu started that made me start this very one.
In doing so I wasn't trying to make a mockery of the coaching situation but trying to have a little fun which many have seemingly taken in stride and I, personally, have had some real good laughs from some of the posts here. Others seem offended by this and I really beleive some of them are being most critical of the staff.
As I said in another post they only coach and draw up the play, they do not execute the play. I was talking to a retired referee this morning about that very thing and he mentioned how, as a ref, he would see a play drawn up by the coach and think how great of an idea but then the players went the wrong direction or threw the ball to the wrong person.
My point for all of more serious ones on this board is there is only so much that the staff can do and then the players have to take over. If they do it right the staff looks like they are geniouses and if they do it wrong the staff are the worst decision makers possible.

                  Umm...no, it isn't.
If anyone on this board honestly thinks they could coach this team better than Les, they are wrong and completely delusional. It is however, a valid reaction for them to look at a team that is underachieving and play the 'what if' game to develop their own theories as to why things aren't going as planned. If this guy played more, if this guy played less, if we did more of this, less of that, etc. They're just opinions, ways to vent their frustrations...not statements of their belief that they are the next coming of Coach K.

BNut this reminds me of the time we were playing UAB at home and Bartow the kid was their coach. I was sitting in the seat directly behind the bench even with the coaches, they had a guy who shot it seemed every single time he had his hands on the ball. Well during a timeout, in no uncertain terms Bartow told this player, "do not shoot the ball again"

They inbounded the ball past mid court, second pass went to this player coming across the top of the key going from his right to left, what did he do as soon as he touched the ball? It went straight up for a miss.

Beninator, the Cubs haven't done much better with just 1 manager.

I hear that the Vegas odds for the Cubs to win the World Series this year are only 5-1... couldnt believe it when I heard it.... I have seen
                        10-1 on the internet.

OK, so we can voice an opinion as long as it's positive about the coach? We can't voice a negative opinion because then we're saying we can coach better than the coach?

I have a close friend who played for Milliken years ago... and asked him about this many times.

Same response basically. Coach's "designed play" gets botched for 1 reason or another and players improvised ALL THE TIME. (I am not saying Bradley and Milliken are the same - I am saying... players react in live games and make live decisions that stray from the set play). And maybe this is part of Bradley's problem which can be 2-fold... 1 - Ruffin would be the decision maker that everyone followed, and 2 - so many new players trying to adapt to one another as well as the high level of Div 1 play.

Funny.... if BU eeks out the win over Drake... are we discussing any of this?

                              The sky is not falling.

Sit back - YES! - SIT BACK!!!.... and enjoy watching Bradley Basketball and these fine young men grow before your very eyes at a top level of competition.

fwiw...Not much of a gambler, but I passed on the 5-1 odds... I was thinking that maybe 50-1 would have been more appropiate.
