I've been reading this board for a long time and thought I'd add my 2 cents. Drake is a class program and though an opponent, they have always been very cordial and showed great sportsmanship toward Bradley. I read their message and my take is they have nothing but respect for the Bradley basketball program. I don't see where they are "over board" or dissing the Braves. If the shoe were reversed and the Braves had a record like Drake, what would our fans be saying? I can guarantee it would be insane. Let's show one of the other private schools in the Valley some class and respect that they deserve, let the players decide the game with our heads held high.

Good luck to the Braves.....after tonight!

But I think that's exactly the point........
NOT that Drake folks are dissing on BU or talking trash....but that there seems to only be interest and discussion about the future game with ISU, and it DOES appear as if many Drake fans, and possibly even the head coach from that quote above, are looking past BU and more towards the ISU game.

Isn't the quote from above from Gary Parrish of cbs sportsline?
I didn't know he was a mouthpiece for Keno Davis.
I think Old Timer's post said it best.
It sounds like you guys might be looking for a rallying cry or possible bulletin board material to get everyone fired up about this game.
I just don't see the lack of respect from Drake to Bradley. But maybe I am not looking as hard as you guys are for it.

As for your first paragraph....there has not been a SINGLE post yet on the Drake board about the Drake-ISU game, so I have no idea where you're coming from on that one. Drake's board is a little different than this one. For whatever reason, there's not usually a lot of pre-game discussion of any game.
It seems like some people are trying to create something (disrespect for Bradley from the Drake fans/coaches) that is simply not there.

Read the very first post in this thread.
I heard the interview. It was about 45-60 seconds long. He never brought up the Bradley or ISU games. Does that mean he disrespects either?
Davis was on to talk about their 14-1 start. And that is what he talked about. Gottlieb really pushed the Dr. Tom angle on Keno, more so than anything else.

I am going on the first post, I didn't hear the interview...but the poster is the one who drew the conclusion Davis was looking past the Braves.
My comments was
"and possibly even the head coach from that quote above"
a reasonable assessment, so gimme a break...

Sorry T, I just don't see it. Nothing in the inital post in this thread had anything to do with Keno and disrespecting Bradley or overlooking them.
He only talked about their 14-1 start, his Dad, and his players during the in-game interview.
If that is overlooking Bradley, so be it.

Fans are one thing, it really doesnt matter if any of us look past one game to another.
I highly doubt Davis, especially for how long he has been in the Valley or for the matter on a sideline would ever look past anyone, ever.
Players though are a different breed entirely. No matter what they tell you to your face the fact is they have one of the biggest home games in their history coming up on Saturday, they are getting quite a bit of national exposure and they have won 13 straight. They probably do not look past teams but it isnt hard to get a little caught up in the hype and lose focus.
BU needs to come out tonight, get right up in Drakes face and pressure the heck out of them. Essentially come out swinging and go for a knock out immediately.

Bulletin board material from posters on a message board?
If BU were in Drake's shoes, we'd probably be talking about the ISU game more than a game against a team that's 1-3 in the conference and playing without its all-league PG.
I doubt Drake is "looking past" BU or anything like that, but I can see how it could be a bit of a trap game.
