Disappointing outcome but the loosiers better be ready when they come to the real Assembly Hall because it won't be pretty.

It won't be pretty, but Illinois will probably lose again. They're terrible. They'd be playing Thursday in the MVC.

Illinois really competed today; they were probably better off without Frazier; what the heck is Randle shooting a 3 for at the end of the game?

The play was designed for Meach but was well defended. Randle had the ball and took the shot. The game was lost in the 2nd half doldrums that this team has floated into all season long. IL loses by 3 to the 10th rated team in the country on their home court. Not a bad showing.

While this season is pretty much a goner, good things are starting to happen. McCamey is looking more comfortable at the 1. Holdren added some spark off the bench after a long absence. Tis got some real good schooling from DJ that will let him know what a B10 post is supposed to look like.

          I expected worse.

Our biggest problem is missed free throws. Think of all the games we could win if we could just hit our free throws. That, and our bigs are always getting into foul trouble. I was sure that Pruitt would foul out after he picked up his fourth with 12 minutes remaining in the game. If we can keep it this close on the road, I think a hostile, angry crowd at the real Assembly Hall can propel us to a win. I actually e-mailed coach McClain this week begging him to urge the guys to win this game. I hate Indiana, and if they went 0-30, it would be a dream come true.

I think this game identifies that IU has limited scoring options.
If you can do a good job on Gordon and White, you can beat them.
Unfortuntely, Illinois just couldn't score when they needed to but Indiana was fully beatable today, and every other Big Ten saw them exposed today.

Whatever works. They're not going to be a good team next year. I just hate how they're good one year and all the sudden their ignorant fans start coming out of the woodworks.

They were pretty good last year. They finished 3rd in the Big Ten, won 20 games, and actually won a game in the Big Dance last year.

Do you seriously think that Illinois would be in the bottom 4 of the MVC? Pomeroy's ratings say you're not even close. Here's where Illinois would rank in the MVC:

                          15 Drake
                          47 ILLINOIS
                          54 Illinois State
                          60 Creighton
                          87 Southern Illinois
                          93 Missouri State
                          119 Northern Iowa
                          120 Wichita State
                          128 Indiana State
                          143 Bradley

Pomeroy's ratings last year said BU was among the nation's top 40 teams, as the RPI did. That doesn't mean anything. Illinois is a terrible basketball team that couldn't score if they were in the gym alone. I have been eyewitness to them losing at home to Miami-OH and Tennessee St, and on the road to a terrible Maryland team among others. They would have a tough time staying out of the play-in round in the MVC this year. Sorry if that's insulting, but it's true.

You're just helping the IU fans! All they do is look at that garbage, even though it's not relevant because their last title was in 1987.....Over the last ten years, UIUC has dominated IU, but their fans all bring up meaningless crap from the '80s and further back. Most of those fans weren't even born then, so who cares? I'm talking about current powers, and that's not Indiana. Out of 3 games last season, we beat them twice. They weren't that much better. Plus it's pretty easy to be one of the best in the nation when you steal other school's commits! I know it was a verbal, but the way they went around Webber was extremely low.

I agree their pretty terrible. I don't think my team's god or anything, but I doubt they'd finish last. With the Valley being THIS down this year, UIUC wouldn't finish last in the MVC, there's too many terrible teams this year. Plus, UIUC typically has some size, although guys like Randle and Pruitt foul far more than what is necessary.
