Some of us who actually care will be there no matter what. Instead of staying home in Chicago I came back to BU specifically because it's basketball season. I know I may be in the minority but I think it's bull that there is no student section and I have to listen to some mommy who comes to maybe one game a year tell me to sit down.

I wish there were more people like you (us), but unfortunately there aren't. It's like that for most fan bases. The casual fan, especially the casual student fan, are what make up most of the student fan base. Only consistent winning will make them fans for life. Sad, but true.

Shame on the students who have to have a winner on the floor to show up. That's why no one should cut up the old timers who don't stand and go crazy. They are there every year win or lose.

I'd say that most Bradley students are here soley for the academics. Quality athletic programs probably did not factor at all into their school choice. Those type of students were not raised as big D1 fans, and will never "get" how exciting D1 hoops are until the team is winning, creating national exposure, and starting a campus buzz with school pride..

During the S16 run, I read in articles of students stating, "now I get it" (excitement over D1 hoops that they see in things like College Game Day)

(You'd hear some people say that the general game day atmosphere adds to the campus appeal/entertainment option part of the college selection process, obviously not the only selection criteria a student should use but it matters more to some)

I'm talking about the students who are basketball fans but don't show up because the team isn't winning.

I would say about 75% of fans are in this category. They just aren't going to show up to support mediocrity and/or losing. We aren't all Cub fans ya know (unfortunately I am).
