I know it's still moderately early, but that's a downer.

Absolutely no one would of predicted those standings. So much for all those threads in the off and pre-season of SIU and Bradley duking it out up top LOL. Least for now anyways.

It's also sad that they have removed DR from the individual stat totals....heck he still lead in assts and was something like 37 of 40 from the F/T line for the top %?

The biggest question is who is going to be the 4th play-in team. IMO, UE, WSU, and UNI are heading there. I don't know if anyone believes Indiana St is going to keep up their pace, but at 4-1 they've set themselves up nicely to avoid Thursday. Can anyone see MSU, SIU, or even CU falling that far? BU is going to have to leapfrog at least one of those teams to stay out of Thursday. But, as I have said for about a week now, we'll see how things look when we're 4-4 in 10 days.

It's still early! We certainly dug ourselves a big hole by going 1-4 to start the conference season, but we all know that it's a wide-open league this year - and realistically, a 10-8 or 11-7 record could win the MVC this year! Both ISU and Drake still have seven conference games on the road - and you can bet that both of them will lose a game or two at home before this season is over. I personally don't put ISU or Drake in the same category of league dominance as has been the case with SIU and Creighton the past few years. You could almost put a "W" on the board if SIU or Creighton were playing at home these past few years - but I certainly don't consider ISU or Drake to have those same caliber of teams. I'm not trying to take anything away from ISU or Drake's early success, I'm merely pointing out that it's still a LONG season and a lot can still happen. I think every team in the league is playing to win the conference tournament - because without a sweep of the Bracket Buster games, we're probably looking at a one-team NCAA bid this year. For BU to avoid the play-in game, we're going to have to figure out a way to steal 2 or 3 of our six remaining road games.

Since we have yet to play ISU and Drake...we really could do some damage and bring those teams back to the pack.......

It is very important to beat Drake, Evansville and Illinois State if we wish or expect to stay out of the play in game; Drake and Illinois state would make a difference in ties if they continue to stay at the top of the standings; we need to give this team all the support we can on wed. night as this game is more important then the mich. st. game was .
