Illinois State won its seventh men's basketball game in a row Tuesday night, the program's longest such streak in seven years. Five thousand eighty-two people witnessed the Redbirds take sole possession of first place in the Missouri Valley, with a 4-0 record, one-half game ahead of Drake and Indiana State. Five thousand one hundred eighteen empty seats saw them do it, too "One step at a time," ISU athletics director Sheahon Zenger said of half-empty Redbird Arena, once a jam-packed pain in the ears anytime ISU took the court.

I imagine their students are still on break? I would expect (and hope) that when they're back the place will be packed to capacity............No doubt when BU visits it will be.

This is part of the reason it should be embarrasing for Bradleys program to not be better then a team that draws half the amount of fans .

Yea, alot of us were pretty surprised to only get 5100 at the UNI game, esepecially coming off 9500 vs. SIU. Weekend games always draw better than weeknight games but still, none of us expected the crowd to drop off that much. Students are still on break, although we had a good amount of them there vs. SIU and UNI. We should get a pretty good crowd Saturday night vs. UE. More, but not all, students will be back by then and its a weekend game.

I only went back 10 years.... and in those 10 years, we have ALWAYS played ISU at home during the week.

ISU has gotten us at home on a Saturday for the past 6 years straight. This year will be the 7th.

I think they know when they make the schedule that were are guaranteed to sell out our home game against ISU no matter the day/time.

I think I remember hearing that Bradley requested ISU games mid-week at home, and ISU requested Bradley at home on Saturdays. Again, just like Fetz said.... Bradley knows it can sellout any night vs. ISU, whereas ISU doesn't want to be embarassed getting a low crowd and they go for as big as one as possible vs. their rival down I-74.

Now that you mention it....

And I think it was partly due to pickled ISU fans at Carver on a Saturday... whereas, mid-week games keep 'em at home.
