  • At what point

do you start playing for next year? I don't want to give up on this year yet, but it's looking more and more bleak with every game.

At what point should JL start getting the guys who will be around next year more minutes? And at what cost to our two currently healthy seniors?

We're only 0-4. Still plenty of time if we win next 2 of 3 home games. But, if we're half-way through the Valley year without a win .........................................

I say we start to play for next year next year! What type of program would do that. If there were a rash of injuries maybe OK. What we should start thinking about is how do we get the best team on the floor by March. Then again if we go into the Valley with a .500 record and win the tourney imagine our NCAA seed! BU vs NC in Charlotte

I think that's pretty short-sighted. Lots of teams play for next year. I am not suggesting that we tank the season, but im not the first person who has recommended reducing JC's minutes. Why not? We're 0-4 in the conference, could well be 0-6 by next weekend. do you really think we're going to catch fire and win 4 straight in the Lou? Even if we do, we just may be play-in game bound.

I dont think we should abandon hope this year, but there comes a time when you have to realistically recognize that you're not doing anything post-season this year, and you need to get your young talent more time on the floor. Better to work through growing pains in a lost season than have another bad season next year because our 2nd year players still look inexperienced.

big picture, we get to a point where we need to start getting WE, RA, DC, and even TCS more time. At what point is that? I think if w'ere 1-7 or 1-8, the time has arrived.

But hey, we could get hot. I'd love for this team to reel off 5 or 6 wins in a row and shut my negativity up.

According to one Bracktologist, our Bubble burst on Nov 10th at UIC.

          Guess the time was then.

Since this topic is progressively getting more ridiculous ... I'll play along.

If by some miracle we were to win the Valley tournament, we wouldn't be a 16 seed. Even Evansville would smash most teams in the little tiny conferences (MEAC, SWAC, etc.). The committee doesn't seed teams based on record.

Alright, I'm not one to criticize people for there opinion, rather I criticize there opinion. But in this case... how the heck do you figure we'd be in the play-in game? We could lose almost every game from here on out, win the tourney and still probably avoid the play-in game.

I still believe that BU will get this turned and be repectable and very very dangerous come St Louis time......so I would not be looking toward next year..

If we weren't playing in, I would give us as good of a shot as anyone. But the chances of us avoiding Thursday are slim and none right now. We've already given away 2 home games to two bad teams. That's really hard to recover from in a league where home teams traditionally dominate.
