I missed the majority of the first half due to me and my friends thinking the game started at a different time. How did DC play for the 3 minutes he actually got onto the court?

I guess he had to. Otherwise we would of been too exhausted at the end.
      You weren't the only one!

How did DC play in his 3 min ? He came in and committed a foul immediately. Then about 2.5 minutes later SIU had the ball down low and he fouled again. Those are the highlights.

There was evidence of some adjustments last night and I think some things looked better. In total, our big guys played 50 minutes, the first time that they have played 50+ minutes (DC only played 3 minutes of the 50) since the first game against UIC. Also, BU only took twenty-one 3 pointers (SIU took 20). That is a dramatic reduction from our first three conference games where BU took 93 attempts beyond the arc compared to just 42 for the opponents.

But SIU outrebounded BU 28-25 which should not happen with our height advantage. I watched the game on TV and our guards do not look to get the ball inside. There were several times in the first half where we would be running that weave, MS would set the pick at the top of the key and roll to the basket, but normally the guard had his body turned sideways to the basket and was not in a position to hit the guy breaking to the basket.

We need rebounds and we need to pound the ball inside (BU was 13 for 23 from 2 point land). We are not beating people by outgunning them from long distance. We are 0-4 in conference play and 0-6 since DC has been essentially benched. I know I'm like a old LP that has a skip on it, but could we maybe just try one game where we let DC play 25+ minutes and play some possession ball. Could we at least try it once? (This is the best face I could find to portray a sad, pitiful look in my plea to play DC more)

Again, I didnt see the game, but in the second half, our players seemed to be driving to the basket more. And coincidentally in the second half we scored better.

              You are an evil wizard!

Suggesting that a big man can make a positive contribution, near the post, to the flow of a guard-oriented offense, not just setting high screens where the big is away from the boards

I really don't understand BU's passion for that weave out front. It almost seems like that when we get into trouble, we start the weave up. The thing I dislike the most about it is that it doesn't look like we are trying to accomplish anything out of it. We set about 4-5 screens out top with SM, JC and AW, TW or TCS running back and forth for about 20 seconds and still get a bad shot or a turnover out of it. What's the advantage to it? Our bigs become complacent, as they are not getting utilized, our guards become tired, and to me, it's very easy to defend. In the home loss to N Iowa, the road loss to Mo ST, and this SIU game, the weave was worthless.

N Iowa was jumping the screens ahead of our guards because they knew they were coming, MO St. switched to a 3-2 zone, and SIU utilized a very good backside trap in which they allowed that screen to be set, but then the weak side defender absolutely left his man to run behind our guard and trap him from behind, all three of these defenses shut down that weave.
We do not have the passers on this team that we had last year.

Against SIU after that weakside player came over to trap, they're were several occasions that 2 players were wide open, if the ball handler would have just reversed the ball, instead of continuing to dribble aimlessly head on into the man that switched the screen, and then get trapped from behind.BU didn't reverse the ball off that screen once, we just allowed ourselves to be trapped, and usually threw the ball directly into the hands of the trappers. Crouch was especially dissapointing tonight with regards to ballhandling/decision making.

I thought AW was very good last night, he didn't settle for the 3, and knocked in all his free throws. Once he starts keeping his head focused on the rim and finishing those drives to the bucket he'll take his game to another level, that's easier said than done though when you're getting fouled hard though, but overall AW played pretty well, and showed some toughness by continually going to the rack.

SM was good, not great, but very solid for a freshman, and is going to be very very good by the time he graduates.

Both AW, SM, and little bit of R Austin were the few bright spots in this game. BU has got to find a way to keep getting better, and please scrap the weave.

We lost once again because we played a bad 1st half ; I thought Warren,Maniscalco, Salley, and Austin played well; Crouch should not be out front or bringing up the ball as he has too many turnovers and has looked fatigued because he is being asked to do too much, Wilson is too small to play the 4 position, Collins is too timid and seems to never be in the right place to defend or rebound,(last night we were in a zone and he never rotated over which allowed SIU to get an offensive rebound and score), Singh was below ave. last night and I would like to see more of Will Egolf as I think he could help us on the boards ; we need to redo the lineup :
                  Singh,Austin,Collins 5 position
                  Salley,Egolf, Austin 4 position
                  Wilson,Crouch, Warren 3 position
                  Warren, Crouch, Cole-Scott 2 position
                  Maniscalco, Cole-Scott 1 position
Just an opinion but we need to substitute according to these positions and if we have to play more zone defense who cares as long as we win.
