I've not wanted to bring this up, in fear that one of my greatest sources of entertainmnet will be shut off, but has anyone else noticed the open mike conversations among Dave, Joe, and Chuck when they think they are off the air during commercials, etc? Sometimes I only can hear one side on the conversation, or the other guy is muffled, apparenty due to one or the other taking the headset off while one or the other keeps theirs on. Has anyone here been able to make out/have some of their favorite snippets they've overheard?
Me and my wife got a hoot out of Coach Stowell cussing now and then last year. I really haven't heard many such words from him this year, though--yet
. I like during the Wichita game where they were descibing how bad of a team they thought they were--it was embarassing becuase I had a feeling we were going to loose to them, and then we did. Uh, guys, if the Shickers stunk so bad, what does that make us? Towards, the end, during an open mike, CB alluded to this point, and said several times,"That's what I'm saying." They were also quite cocky (mostly Dave) when we played one of the cream puffs earlier in the season.
I have found it interesting that the only really "coachly" insights I've heard out of CB have been about shooting and offense. I thought for sure he'd key in on defense and rebounding. The biggest comments I've heard from the guys were about three or so games ago when DC played a decent stretch (but not really after that) and Austin got some minutes too. Dave muttered in a derisive tone, "I hope folks are happy now, they got what they wanted." And he and CB sort or alluded to and duscussed how fans were grumbling for the big guys to play more but that they implied they weren't that good. I contrast those comments to earlier in the season when we were playing better and CB and Joe were positively gushing over Will, DC and AT.
Also, when Dave made his comments, I sort of got the impression that he/they may read this board (nothing specifically said, but the reference to the fan complaints caught my attention). Oh, well now that I've posted on the subject, the cat will be out of the bag, and they will proably tighten up their mike usage. On a positve note, if they do shut down the open mikes, I may have alterted them to it before they really let something fly and embarass the heck out themselves
