  • I've always wanted to, but has anyone here?

I've always wanted to, but has anyone here?...seen practices, that is. Given all the consternation and questioning, it really begs the question as to what goes on in practice. Although I assume they are usually officially closed, have any of the folks here been able to catch many practices this season or any season of years past? I just remember being on campus, back when, and being able to peek, etc., but I never really pushed it because I didn't want to casue any issues.

Practices are, and always have been closed since Jim Les has been here. And I don't know of any fan that has been to a practice. This is not unusual. I have heard that the majority of D1 coaches prefer to have closed, private practices.

I knew 2 older gentlemen, Bill and Joe that got into practices when Coach Mo first started. They would just show up at the fieldhouse. One day, Coach Mo said to Bill and Joe, " You fellows cannot keep coming in throught the door to see our practice". Bill stated "Coach, we always have been able to see Bradley practice and that door swings both ways". Molinary laughted and thought they were harmless. Bill and Joe were a pair together at Bradley Basketball functions. Bill passed away about 2 years ago. Joe still goes to the games. I do not think he has been able to see a practice under Coach Les

Yes, practices are closed to the general public. The only people that i've seen JL let into practice are area HS coaches. I want to say that some high school teams and even one area D3 team has watched practice in the past.

I've had the priviledge of seeing some practices almost all the way through the JL era. It has been amazing to see his maturation as a coach in practice over the past 6 seasons. Trust me, the reason for this skid is not due to lack of effort by JL in practice. He exhausts all scouts and does everything possible to prepare the team for upcoming games.

I do not think anyone here ever has questioned JL's drive and work effort. What we question is the system he is running right now with the team he puts on the floor and why certain players see more time then others. If you can answer that, your post will be the most read ever this year.

          What's wrong with DC?
Why did it take so long for RA to get some playing time?
Without DR do we have the guards capable of playing in the current system?
Why is 1/2 the team playing out of position?
Without a capable big man to play D (an inforcer in the paint) is JC a defensive liability when he has to play quicker guards?

I've never and I believe no one from the regular posters have ever, ever has doubted JL's passion and determination to make Bradley a great basketball school. We are on this site because we are also passionate about this school and team.
