There is no turnaround with this team, not this year and by the looks of the current bench that barely plays, certainly not next season. You're never going to win a game consistently being out rebounded by 10-20 a game. Also whats sickening, Creighton just out rebounded MO State by 8 tonight. Were on a last or 2nd to last finish at this rate. Sickening, just plain sickening. Where is this top recruiting class at? I see one of the worst classes.

Rebound stats per game while losing 6 of last 7 games...

    - minus 16 tonight to WSU
    - minus 18 to MO State
    - minus 19 to N. IA
    - plus 4 against VCU
    - minus 1 to Butler
    - plus 10 to Wright State
    - minus 19 to MI State

NICE post DUB! You make a good point......the 2nd half JC wanted to come out many times looking to the bench and it didn't happen.....it really showed the last half!

I'm not a big finger pointer but I'm pointing kinda in the direction of Matt Salley. For a senior, BU is not getting the boost you would hope from a player with his experience.

bench points would be nice! or bench playing time for a change. give someone a breather once in a while that could be why we are so slow sometimes.

Salley does all he can with what he's capable of doing. He's also played out of position for two years.

I guess I'm one of the few who accepts Salley for who he is.

The coaching staff does not have this team ready to play defense and until they decide to put someone in or recruit a player that can rebound we are in a world of hurt; this is embarrassing to be losing to mediocre teams at best; we stayed with the same starting lineup and got the same results; it is time for a change and we may as well start getting Egolf ready for the future as this season has gone down so fast that there is little hope left ; who is to blame when a team is picked to finish 2nd in the conference and look as if they may end up 9th.

Note to staff.. PLEASE recruit someone who isnt a guard, isnt a soft inside player and is at least 6'6.

                    It would be greatly appreciated.

The thing that is most frustrating to me about this game is that we had built a good lead with 5 or 6 minutes to go in the first half, and Marshall pulled all 5 starters to send them a message...
He put in 5 guys that were absolutely horrible and played them for a 4 or 5 minute stretch...and our starting lineup playing against essentially their JV squad couldn't do anything, and ended up losing 2 points off of our lead, I believe. With that horrid lineup that Marshall threw out there for the last 5 minutes of the first half, BU should have extended the lead to 18 points by halftime, if they had one ounce of toughness or killer instinct...

Here is who Marshall put in to send a message to his starters with 5 or 6 minutes left in the first half...and at least 4 of these 5 guys played a 4 or 5 minute stretch at the end of the first half.

Graham Hatch - 0 pts. scored all season...13 total minutes played all season before tonight
Bret Michael - 0 pts. scored all season...6 total minutes played all season before tonight.
Lance Harris - 0 pts. scored all season...8 total minutes played all season before tonight
Aaron Ellis - averaged 1.4 points per game before tonight
JT Durley - averaged 8.4 points per game before tonight

That was the 5 man lineup that our starters were matched up against at the end of the first half...They should have destroyed that lineup and forced Marshall to bring his starters back...but it didn't happen...we couldn't even overmatch that collection of deep bench players...that is an embarrassment...

It would be the equivalent of Les getting angry at our starters and bringing in Phillips, Lavin, Austin, Egolf, and Cole-Scott to play out the last 5 minutes of the first half on the road at Creighton....You think that the Bluejays wouldn't run off about 20 points in 5 minutes against that lineup?

But we could do nothing...absolutely nothing against those scrubs...Marshall handed us a gift...we could (and should) have run that lineup off the court and built a 20 point lead by half...instead, we wilted.

RealFan after last game you said the staff should be playing Sam S a lot more because he could rebound so well now make your mind up what big man you want on the floor.

And to add a little to your post ER3, we played incredibly stupid in the last minute or so in the first half and we were given a gift 8 point halftime lead.

                            Howdy,

Just finished a long drive back to Chicago after another loss ...

I think many of things that have been said are valid, but when you have so many players that do have at least a little skill, things have to fall on the coaching staff.

I'm still trying to figure out if all of the new players (except for Maniscalco) aren't playing well or at all because A. Coach Les & staff overestimated their abilities or B. Coach Les & staff isn't getting the most out of talented players.

The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, closer to B., as you see flashes of how good each player can be. We've all seen how Austin aggressively pounds the glass, Cole-Scott's quickness, Egolf's raw overall talent in different facets, Collins inside presence ... etc. These aren't bad players but obviously Coach isn't getting the most out of their abilities (whether you want to call those limited or limitless).

I'm willing to dismiss the first part of the second half as every team goes through rough parts of the game. But the absolute dagger tonight was Coach's decision to go to a 2-3 zone. Our players, for whatever reason don't understand how to properly run it, including (and most importantly) ... ROTATION! This kind of stuff can be taught but it isn't there. We ran it for approximately 3-5 possessions and Wichita scored on nearly every one (two wide open threes and an easy dunk). If you know something isn't working, and it's been subpar all season, why would you experiment with something like that when you're going through a tough stretch in the game.

Coach Les really needs to work on his in-game coaching or surround himself with better guys who can manage a game. For as much as he improved over the past few years (maybe it was Chuck B., who knows), he has regressed this year and hasn't adapted to the personnel we have.

                            Long way to go ...
                            Go Braves!

I am still trying to figure out why Sam S played so much I would play 5 guards before I played him more than 5 min a game.

ARGH! I can't believe that Bradley lost another game to a weak team AT HOME! I'm glad that I was at the casinos in Las Vegas (for my 21st birthday) during the game. Losing $7 in an hour is a lot less painful then watching the Braves drop another one at home (especially with a halftime lead).

I still can't believe that David Collins and Rashad Austin aren't getting more minutes. When there is no rebounding being done and Salley is getting more fouls than points, there needs to be a consistent inside presence.
