MVC games Saturday 1/5/08

There are 3 other games today in addition to the Wichita State-BU game (7:05 pm tonight at Carver Arena).

Northern Iowa (10-3, 2-0) at Indiana State (7-5, 2-0) at 6:05 pm in a battle of the unbeatens. Both teams are 2-0 in MVC play.

Southern Illinois (6-7, 1-1) at Illinois State (10-3, 2-0) at Redbird Arena at 7:05 pm.

Creighton (9-3, 0-2) at Missouri State (8-6, 1-1) at 7:05 pm. Creighton is needs a win to avoid starting 0-3 in the MVC.

1 more MVC note--

Freshman guard Lamont Austin, has left the Missouri State team. He was a promising recruit, but got into trouble in the preseason when he was arrested in relation to a theft. He was never charged. He played in only 2 of the first 7 games, then suffered a broken foot and would likely not have played the rest of the year. But he was dismissed because he did not meet academic expectations.

Well the other MVC games tonight pretty much magnify how much BU sucks. Creighton beats MO State by a point and out rebounded them by 8 as well as holding them to 29% FG, a game after MO State out rebounds us by about 20 and shoots nearly 55%. Tag on Indiana State's slaughtering of N. IA which we couldn't score 10 points on in 1 half. What a very, very long season this is going to be. I'm embarrassed for BU to be on ESPNU Tuesday night.
