  • Nice Story on Jeffrey Jordan

    Son of Michael Jordan--

    "Jordan Growing Into His Game"

"It can't be easy being the son of a NBA Legend with the expectations that go along with it, but it looks like Jeffrey Jordan, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound combo guard from Loyola Academy in Deerfield, Ill., is beginning to handle it well based on his play on the court at the Boo Williams Invitational.

Playing a big role in the Rising Stars' run to a second place finish in the Silver Division, Jordan seems to be letting the game come to him instead of forcing the action like he was prone to do last summer.

In a semifinal thrashing of the highly touted Metro Hawks, Jordan made good decisions with the ball, played competitive defense and knocked down mid-range jumpers. In a fashion similar to his father, a couple of those jumpers came off hard drives to the right where Jordan stopped on a dime, shot faked his man into the air and then elevated over him.

With a level head on his shoulder, Jordan is focused on improving the weaknesses of his game.

"My shooting needs a little improvement," said Jordan. "I'm also working on my overall point guard play.

"What I do best is go to the hole and elevate."

Establishing himself as at least a mid-major prospect, Jordan also has the attention of some high-majors.

He listed Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Wright State, Marquette, Illinois, Vanderbilt and Loyola Chicago (offer) as schools of interest.

A physically strong combo guard, Jordan has a very quick first step going right although he is left handed. He also can make tough finishes with his right hand. Seems to be playing more under control and making better decisions, but he is still in the process of refining his outside shooting and point guard play."

Loyola-Chi or Wright St sound about right. He's in over his head at any of those other places.
