I also agree with this. I can't stand watching the players get into their "circle of motion" and then break it to stand around while the video is playing. I liked it much better when the players were able to get hyped in their circle and go straight to the introductions!

Until Ruffin returns, I think BU is sitting at the bottom of the ocean. I don't think this team is magically going to get better without him. He masked a lot of the holes on this team.
BU just lost a home game badly to an average Valley team. I'm having a hard time being optimistic about a victory. Maybe there is a night when the three point shots are dropping. However, I think there are some more beatdowns in BU's near future until #20 returns.
I would love to hear reason why you think Bradley is going to win games during this stretch without Ruffin? I'm all ears. I want to believe it. My heart is still with this team, but my head isn't.1996 & 2019

Redefining Success
If we were a good team (and well coached) we would have won this game without Ruffin. Teams use opportunity like that to step up. I can understand the 2nd half with VCU because it came as a surprise to be without Ruffin. We had time to step up and what we showed up with was 9 pts.
Guys, I am as much a fan and drank as much kool-aid as all of you did I have to face it that this year is a big disappointment --so far. We had big expectations and a great schedule but to-date we haven't be able to get the job done.
I am not saying that the season is over but it's not going to be the season we expected. It is important now that we continue to get better. That our new and young players develop and that we position ourselves for a run in the conference tourney. Our coaches need to step up too and figure it out and still be able to sell the dream to new recruits.
We can now say that any national publicity, winning the MVC, or at large invites isn't going to happen and that's disappointing and as a result the goal from here out needs to change. We need to redefine success.
I would say how well the guys that we'll have back next year play/develop is now more important that what Salley,JC or Ruffin does. Let's play the new guys and let them develop so we can get ready for next year and maybe position ourselves to make a move at the end of this year.

The problem with running the weave is it takes a lot of time off the clock and when you are behind by 8 or more points it doesn"t make a lot of sense ; It was installed years ago to take time off of the clock by teams that lacked size and so they would wear their opponents down for 3-5 min. or more then try to break someone free and get a layup.

No one complained about the weave last year when Franklin, Ruff, JC, DA, and even JJ were making shots. The weave gave us plenty of good looks in both halves Saturday. I don't care what offense a team is running, if you shoot 17% in a half, it's gonna look terrible and ineffective.
The weave, as we currently run it, just runs the ball around the perimeter for 25 seconds and then we end up with Ruff/Sam pulling the ball out to half court and running an isolation play as the shot clock winds down.
You can certainly say that we ran the weave a lot in the second half against UNI...and that we shot the ball a little better in that half...both f those statements are true...but I just don't think it is accurate to say that the weave is the reason that we were getting good looks...
The weave can be effective if the opposition starts overplaying the handoffs and you have guards that can exploit that by diving to the hole and getting to the rim themselves or drawing and dishing to the bigs for easy scores...That's what you can get out of that offense that is directly attributable to the weave, but I can only remember one time that a guard actually penetrated out of the weave and scored (TCS).

I will agree with Valley Talk about Crouch, it seems like his head has been cut off with the loss of Ruffin.
Every guy on that team, when watching them, seems shy, hesitant, and quiet. With Ruffin gone it is magnified.
I'm rooting for them, the players, the staff, everyone. But they have a huge hill to climb.

Now before you wonder why, it was because he was looking to shoot the ball. He took five or six good shots, some even off of the dribble. Now the bad news is that he didn't hit any of them. However, I was encouraged by the fact that he shot the ball early.
I do agree with your view that many of the other players looked very lost against Northern Iowa. They were hesitant to shoot, and many of them could not create shots for themselves. That is something that must surely change before too long.
