  • Matt Roth sets State Record

The PJ Star reports that Matt Roth had a couple good games yesterday (he made ten 3-pointers in his two games)
and now has 378 total career 3-pointers made,
which, they say, puts him in first place all time in Illinois for career 3 pointers.

But this conflicts with the report from a couple days ago that said he had 354 and still needed 18, and made four on Thursday,
meaning as of Friday morning, he'd be at 358 and 14 shy of setting the record.

So if he had 354 on Thursday morning, made four in Thursday's game, then nailed ten more in his two games on Friday,
the present number should be 368 -- four shy of setting the record.
So I hope one of the PJS reporters reconciles the stories from Thursday and from today.

The previous record was 371, held by Kevin Rhodes, Canton, 1987-91 (371 of 936)

I was at the game yesterday when he broke the record. They had a nice little ceremony, where Kevin Rhodes came out and presented him with a ball, and they took a few photos. Nice moment. Unfortunately for Washington, Roth ended up going 5-18 from 3 and they suffered their first loss of the year.
    Onward and Upward!
