  • Theron Wilson's Offense

I think BU needs to Utilize TW more on the offensive end of the floor. It seems to me that regardless of the man defending him, that when TW decides to drive to the hole he runs right around his man like he's standing still, he not only has a good first step, but has one the best second steps, and a great jump stop that he uses to get around his man. It's very effective, and seems to come naturally to him. Not only does he usually get a high percentage shot, but he also draws alot of fouls. This could be BU's answer to finding an inside game. Since we don't run any traditional post offenses or back to the basket plays, BU is finding a terrible time getting anything open on the perimeter. I think maybe if we were to run some curl screens around the foul line for TW, and use those to get him the ball going to the bucket, it would make up for our lack of inside play. Once he starts getting inside, the easier the perimeter game will become.
I don't know, he seems to get to the bucket so easy, I think we ought to exploit it more.

i agree. he's very explosive and can at least draw fouls with ease. i have seen us utilize him more and more offensively in more recent games but i wouldn't be surprised to see him become more of a go to man by the end of the season. we have lacked an explosive scorer around the hoop and hopefully he can be the answer.

his free throw stats in juco don't lie. he only shot about 60% from the line but led the nation for a good amount of time his sophomore year in free throws made! that shows how many times he gets to the line and how well he draws the foul.

I agree and it may relieve some pressure on the perimeter but more likely it will leave one of our big guys open while he drives in and hopefully he can pass also and hit them for layups. Which up to date has been a challange this year. Since we do not have a big man game we need to develop the ability to score in the paint if we want to have a chance in winning the Valley.
