Why does something always seem to happen around this time to BU? Nearly every year of the JL era, something has happened around this time of the year to significant personnel. DG leaving, PG's injury, JC's injury, now DR's injury. When does it end?
It seems as though it is always are leading or second leading scorer.
You forgot Anthony Parker (foot) and Aaron Zobrists (ankle at 7th ranked Villanova. he had, like 17 pts in the 1st. half. we were winning. he is injured and we "L").
I believe Rob Dye and Ed Cage (wrist), also had game missing injuries.
Also, Jerome Robinsons shoulder wore down until he could barely shoot in the Mo Valley Championship game. Indy State won and went to The Dance. .
Is there a pox on our house?

I like your big line up Mob, and definitely with JC at the point. He's the better ball-handler, knows the offensive sets, reads defenses well, and will get the ball to open people. Biggest negative might be the fatigue factor which may effect his shooting.

I hate to say it but SM is a better ball handler then JC. JC is fine when he has to bring it up man on man but when there is pressure he seems to lose spacial integrity. SM is quicker with the ball and also has a lower center of gravity in order to avoid steals. TCS by no means should bring the ball up. He is our quickest ball handler but I'm not convince that he knows the O well enough to be our pt. guard.

On another note we need to pass more and dribble less especially without DR. Our passing game is not nearly as well developed this year as previous years. Good paasing teams have a lot of assists.

Has anyone kept track of our assists this year compared to last year and the year before? Let's not bring in out TO ratio, we all know it must not be favorable compared to last year or any other JL era.

I agree completely. I DO expect to see SM start at point.

I was just suggesting a "new look" during the abscence of Ruffin and going with Senior leadership.

But to defend... I think JC can be a fine "pass" at PG til DR's return. His problems with pressure can be overcome by his 6'5" advantage, floor smarts/vision and calming senior poise.

Anyone with any word on Ruffins status for Saturday or if anyone has seen him practicing?

The only problem I have with JC at the point is that it may take away from his scoring. I think he doesn't shoot enough as it is, and with the added burden of running the offense, he may get even less looks. I understand what you are saying Mob, I like the idea of that larger lineup. If JC is at the point, AW would have to step up and fill JC's shoes at the 2. Also, with that larger lineup, and Ruff out, I think it's the perfect "excuse" (like we need an excuse") to find out what DC can do by posting up and actually getting 15-20 touches and 10+ shots in a game. If Ruff's gonna be out, we might as well get DC going, so when Ruff comes back he's got a new weapon at his disposal.
