Cole-Scott has the ability to be a very good player once he starts playing with a little more confidence and quits trying to do too much; he has shown the ability to drive to the basket and score and he can shoot the 3 as well but he needs to make sure that he is not forcing the issue so much and play more under control ; we have played some really good teams lately so I think you need to give him a chance as it takes time for new players to adjust to this level as it is not as easy as some people think.

It is hard for me to believe that between JL and EB that If CB had some type of "rosetta stone" of solid defense that those two don't know the drills and understand the principle's inside and out. They are likely having ""coffee" with CB every day for heavens sake. So even if they are missing something in practice or with personel it is being discussed plenty.
The deficiencies are most likely are in the amount of reliable players and preformance. Not in coaching philosophy or practice.
I think we should put that one to bed. At least for quite some time.
4. Merry Chirstmas all.
I think everyone knows that Chuck Buescher made a tremendous impact on Coach Les' coaching. However, to suggest that is the only reason we won, and now is the reason we are losing is unfair to both men.
I believe Coach Les was learning on the job, and with the help of Buesh. he learned a great deal in a hurry.
Let's give this coach, with this younger, team a chance before we say the season is over.
Also Merry Christmas all.

I am with DD on the CB issue. Don't forget that in the 2 seasons CB was on the bench, this team had very similar defensive lapses early in the season, including 86 points given up to Loyola and 86 points given up at home to WSU in '05, and 86 points to Tennessee Tech, 86 points to Missouri St, 84 points to WSU, and 86 points to Drake in '06. I think our defense has been maddeningly inconsistent, but I am not ready to declare us a bad defensive team and point to CB's departure as the reason. The conference grind tends to bring out the best in us defensively. Let's hope it does this year too.
On a side note...anyone notice that 86 seems to be 'magic number' as far as BU poor defensive efforts go? I think it's time to '86' giving up 86 points!Onward and Upward!
