JL must have something up his sleeve if he scheduled 4 road games against Horizen league teams. Ie leaving the MVC and getting into a more competitive league. On paper the MVC is better, but, the HL has better venues and more exposure, which helps recruting. What we need to look for is next year, if JL continues the pattern we'll in the HL.

I hated the move of scheduling four Valley teams on the road because it is an inferior league.
2 or 3 is OK. 4 was a bit much. And I didn't like it since they all can't be league contenders. Not that they aren't quality opponents.
However, road games are tough and I want the toughest sked possible. I thought we would be lucky to go 1-3 against the HL, and we went 2-2, so I'll take it and be happy. VCU is a bigger need for us than this Butler game was.

It looks to me like JL likes going to chicago. Why not his friends, family and taylor all live there. So, take your team up there, be somebody and see everyone. If he gets in the HL he is guaranteed 2 trips a year on BU. That all said, there are no other logical reasons for BU to be in chicago other than ohare for transfers.

JL has zero interrest in joining the Horizon League. The Horizon league is not better that the MVC. As a whole the Horizon League has venues that are not as impresive as most of the Valley schools. Loyola and Valpo play in what look like high school gyms and Y'town State is little better.
