Stefhon Hannah Update

A lot of people were satisfied a couple years ago when it was reported that Danny Ruffin had gotten a qualifying score and would be eligible. Turns out that verball assurances of such are occasionally misleading.

Both of BU's recruits (Warren & XC) had immediate notice publicly when they had qualified.

I bet it was pretty tough to get XC qualified....Boyz to Men is the new New Trier!

I think XC is the exception to the usual type of student at BTMA and similar schools. Most are there because they fail academically elsewhere.

XC ended up there because he made a bad choice going to Mt. Zion thinking it would provide him better visibility to schools in the Big East, ACC, and other majors. He played very little there, got on the coach's bad side and needed another school.

From what I have heard Xavier is a bright kid. He was probably the brains of that school. He apparently qualified easily on the national tests. I wonder how many other BTMA kids did?

A new jucojunction article reports further on Stefhon Hannah's visit this past weekend to Mizzou.

"He really enjoyed his visit to Missouri," said Chipola coach Greg Heiar. "He said he really enjoyed it. He liked the coaches, liked the players, liked the facilities. Him and Jason Horton really got along well."

"It's UTEP, Missouri, Kansas State and Illinois State, those are his four schools."

Hannah has already visited all of those schools except for K-State."

Rumor is that Stefhon Hannah has decided on his college choice,
and that he will make the announcement tomorrow in time to sign a LOI -- probably with Kansas State.
At one point Illinois State was the leader for Hannah, but Stefhon played his cards right and peaked during the generally unproductive spring signing period when lots of top programs were changing coaches and had lots of scholarships to fill ASAP.

You are right, as the reports now confirm Hannah has chosen Kansas State.
"Stefhon has told me that he is going to go to Kansas State," Chipola coach Greg Heiar said. "He will be back here tonight and I anticipate him making it official in the morning. I do not know if he has told Coach (Bob) Huggins yet officially, but I do think they know it."

This is a loss for Mizzou, as they truly need help at the guard position.
To add more injury, there is word this morning that Missouri's top player and leading returning scorer, Thomas Gardner, has now hired an agent and will not be returning to school.
