  • ESPN kicking itself??

Ok, with SIU just suffering a 16 point loss to the Broncos (yes, I had to look that up) I wonder if ESPN is second-guessing their decision to broadcast gameday from Carbondale? If so, maybe they should move it to Wichita, and catch the Bradley game on that same Saturday??

I hope this doesnt discourage ESPN from scheduling MVC teams in the future.

SIU is still well known nationally and has a pretty good sized fan base. Creighton or Wichita (as you said) would be the only other sites I could see them broadcasting from this year. Bradley could also make sense, but it would be a bit surprising.

SIU really looks bad... That's bad for the MVC, I think.

College Gameday in the Exhibit Hall would be AWESOME.

ESPN has to make these calls a long way out. I don't think anything is a 100% sure thing. SIU has a track record for being a consistent winner.

If anything they could change the setup and story background and do a big feature on the program fighting some adversity, or that sort of thing.

You know the SIU fans will still make it a very festive atmosphere and no matter how SIU is doing, they will be ready for a home contest with ESPN there.

The college football gameday is flexible to some extent. They weren't planning on being there for the Kansas/Mizzou game when the season started. There were rumors that they might be in Champaign for the Michigan game if Illinois would have beaten Iowa.

If there is a big matchup elsewhere in country on that day, I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN went there.

I duno, the basketball editon of gameday does it a bit different, they announced all their saturday locations before the season started so I highly doubt they'd change it. There may be other games they'd rather be at that day, but that's what they get for not coming to Peoria.

I'll take your word for it. I've rarely watched the basketball edition of gameday.
