great product, great price, great buy
very satisfied with the flag (makes great cape)
The cape has already been copyrighted by the unofficial mascot of the Bradley Braves, Captain Brave. Keep your eyes out for the REAL mascot of your Bradley Braves!
What I really want is a new logo that might actually be marketable. BU is doing so many things right nowadays in the marketing department, I would hope that a makeover of the logo isn't far behind.

BB,
For a long time I was with you in my desire for a new logo. But as time as passed I our logo has grown on me and I am not sure how much you could do without any type of mascot.
Look at some of the logos used by other universities (even those more widely recognizable than BU) and they are either using some form of a mascot or simply a play on their initials as we use ours.
I think the key is more in the merchandizing that the logo. Put it on good stuff that people will wear (not just at the games). Everything changes when outfits like NIKE get involved. Lets use Illinois or even Oregon. Did Nike change their logo drastically? No, they used a block "I" alot or even "ILLINOIS," but the type of clothing and merchandise they put it on made the difference.
I don't want to pretend that NIKE would get involved with us the way they would with the primary university in a state, but someone else might.
Just some thoughts.

I agree to an extent, I just think that a re-work of the BU and the scripted 'Braves' is in order. Without changing it too much, I think the logo can be made over to look more intimidating/appealing/etc. I want people to think of Bradley when they hear 'BU', not Baylor or Boston U. If they know we're the Braves, fine. But I want them to know the name BRADLEY.
I agree, partnering with a Nike or Adidas would help as well. Of course we can't expect a deal like they have with Illinois, but I would think we could get some sort of agreement. The more we go to the NCAA Tournament, the more they would want to partner with us in an endeavor like that, even if it was a small one.

Will Captain Brave be appearing at any games in the near future?
Only Captain Brave can make that decision. Rumors are swirling about his whereabouts. Some have said he's at the MVC office in St. Louis campaigning for a league TV contract on par with the Big East and ACC. Others have spotted him at the NCAA office in Indianapolis demanding a postseason ban for Indiana, and a one-on-one meeting with each member of this year's selection committee. All could be true, all could be false. My guess is that he's at his fortress of solitude breaking down the schedule and all scenarios involving the RPI, Pomeroy projections, and the chances of an at-large bid. When he decides to return is anyone's guess.

I agree.
I bought a scarf at the bookstore that had a block letter "B" on it. I bought the thing for my little sister, so the authenticity of the logo probably escaped her.
However, the more I looked at the scarf the more the simple B grew on me. NUMEROUS schools have done well with simple block letters, and I think a new age B block letter would look classy, yet simple and not over done.
that being said I hate to lose the Braves as god knows we aren't allowed to put it on much anymore.
ONCE A BRAVE... ALWAYS A BRAVE Will give legal advice for beer
I agree.

I like the block letter look as well... Also like the english letter style ala the Detroit Tigers "D" if you want a really different look.
Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
I agree that there needs to be an agreement somewhere regarding the marketing of BU apparel. Finding BU products is quite difficult, especially if you live outside of the Peoria area, and when you do, they certainly aren't the quality product you hoped for, and are rarely "eye-catching". I don't think there's too much you can do with our logo, especially with the university's extremely lame decision to remove our mascot years ago as well as the NCAA's ridiculous rules and regulations regarding Indian mascots (who are you to tell me what's "hostile and abusive", you fascists). Is it creative, no. But what can you do. It's not terrible. There are definitely much worse. Illinois State redesigned their logo a few years back, but that's because they have a mascot, as did Drake.
