You are right Moshington, it was a decision he and his family made. I sure do like his game. I find myself wondering how much he can improve by the end of his Senior year! He sure is becoming a favorite in Washington!!!

I actually have not seen him play, but I have heard good things about him. I am looking forward to getting to see him and MR play together sometime soon.

Jim Les is an excellent judge of talent and character. He's not the type of guy who will recruit someone solely on his athletic abilities if he feels that they won't be a good fit with the Bradley program. I'm sure that Les knows about this kid and has one of his many eyes on him.

I duno if anyone was listening to ESPN Radio a little bit ago but they were discussing the high school games tonight and when they got to the Washington game they were discussing Simms-Edwards and how he had really stepped up his game. According to the guy they were talking to, he's the high school hoops writer for the PJ Star, I can't remember his name, Simms-Edwards is now getting looks from WSU and Kansas.

First...read my post just three posts before you asked these things....
I am a very big Matt Roth fan and wanted him at BU more than just about anyone...

Second...I didn't make this about Matt Roth....as the subject of Roth was brought up numerous times even before I posted once in this thread.
But even the article in today's PJ Star about Simms-Edwards talks almost as much about Roth as about Edwards, so why the surprise we talk a bit about Roth?

Third....it is hardly "off-topic" to mention Roth in a thread about Simms/Washington/and BU recruiting, so I think it is fair game. I for one have to think if Sampson gets fired or IU gets post-season bans, then just maybe it might affect both Simms-Edwards' recruiting and maybe Matt Roth's also.

But you can't blame a kid who wants to play at te highest level possible to prove to himself that he can do it and to all those who have doubted him. He gets a chance to play with some of the nations best and against some of the nations best. It is a great opportunity, plus it is a GREAT school where he will get a GREAT education. I'm not saying he wouldn't get that at BU. I just can't criticize a kid, he has his reasons, his family and him made a decision. And IU is extremely excited to have him.
"Play with the nations best"? Northwestern, Iowa, Penn State, Minnesota, Michigan"? As John Stossel would say," give me a "break;"
Except for Mich St. and Eric Gordons Indiana, they hardly are "The Nations best"
If you have not noticed, their collective RPI is behind The Mo Valley.
3 Up 8 Down in Acc Big 10 Challenge!
For Gods sake, The Illini lost to Maryland who VCU beat by 9 at Maryland and Ohio U. also rang up a "w"against The Terps. The Illini are probably #3-#5, among "the nations best."! ie;Big 10?
Not a great pre conference season resume.

Washington had no trouble with Canton however.

Ya, the big10 is REAL weak as compared to the MVC with Drake, Evansville, Indiana State...

Well they played Dunlap, so how would they have any trouble with Canton?

Well if Roth can only score 13 points against Dunlap, then what is he going to do next year. Oh wait I already know... Here's your towel and cell phone Mr Sampson.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Welcome to the board Moshington. That was a good question you originally posted. Too bad it had to turn into Matt Roth bashing. If Edwards is good enough to fit into our program I know Jim is checking him out.

The thread probably has run its course...threads seem to do that....most folks are not Roth Bashers...but more dislike the manner in which IU coach recruits....Matt is a great player and I am sure we all root for the local kid to do well....I think the original question was answered in the 1st few posts.....yes Edwards has talent and if the fit is right BU would probably be interested....I did hear a report from the game last night, and while Edwards had the points...the report was not all positive.....its early in the season...

Sorry-- they wouldn't have trouble with anyone in their conference, except maybe Morton, but they didn't have much trouble with Dunlap.

By the way....here's some video of Dyricus Simms-Edwards

I don't know much about Coach Ruffin but I do know the kid is getting some sound coaching from C Brown.Every time DSE did something wrong, Coach Brown was in his ear and dad was nodding approval. Brown is the one guy who coaches the same whether up 30, down 30, game just starting, or garbage time.In the middle of the 4th last night, I'm sure he was scheduling practice for today. DSE will be a better player for it.
