  • Dayton/Wright State blog

I didn't have a lot to do this afternoon, so I thought I'd drive over to Dayton to take in the Bradley-Wright State game tonight.

The weather in Illinois wasn't as bad as all the gloom-and-doom predictions, but it was cold and rainy. But it really warmed up as I approached Ohio.
It is 63 degrees, and cloudy over here! No rain. It's almost springlike!

If this doesn't show the weather for Dayton, enter Dayton, OH. --

I have never been to Wright State or the Nutter Center, so I'll post some pictures when I get there. It looks like a nice facility.--

It should be a good game. I am surprised to see Bradley favored.

Geez, anybody want to hit this softball outta the park?

Was surprised to see BU favored on the road also....could this be a sign of a positive spin on the MSU game or is it more Wright State only putting up 43 in their win?
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

I am waiting outside the Ervin Nutter Center. This is a really nice arena. I had a chance to check the place out a little earlier, and here are some pictures I took inside earlier.

I just overheard a couple Wright State fans talking here, and they must not know much about Bradley. They said they are expecting a blowout tonight, and I don't think they were talking about Bradley winning! I know they have had pretty good teams here the last couple years, but I hope it's not a blowout!

The temperature here now is up to 68 degrees with high humidity. This arena, the Nutter Center, is a multi-purpose arena, and has ice under the basketball floor. I wonder if they'll have condensation problems tonight?

The doors are opening, and I am headed back inside.
      Go Braves! Need this game!

Benches look like they're on the ends, similar to Vanderbilt. I don't really like that.

A blowout? They must not get ESPNU in Dayton. Teams that score 43 points in a game don't blow out anyone. Do they not remember the 39 point shellacking we gave them last year? I'm not saying BU is going to win, but I don't think they'll get blown out either. Hopefully Wright St has the same attitude their fans have, and we can steal a W.

Hey DC, were the benches actually at the end baselines like at Vandy?

No...the benches were in the "normal" spots...to the left and right of the scorer's table.

No, those endline chairs were for the fans and the benches were on left side of the court in top picture here--

I don't kow if the broadcasts said anything, but there were several stoppages to wipe up moisture on the floor, similar to the Carver Arena problem.

It caused a couple Bradley players to slip in the 1st half, but it didn't seem to be a problem for Bradley in the second half.

Snell mentioned the wet spots around half court i think, several times
