Does anyone know where/if any Chicagoland games will be next season or who Bradley is trying to schedule?

I know DePaul doesn't want to see us for a while and we just played UIC and Loyola away. So I guess that leaves Chicago State, Northwestern, or Northern Illinois as possibilities.

No, no.... you're right BUB2006. We shouldn't pass on playing in Chicago. But from what abesimpson pointed out, options are getting limited for opponents.

I like the Marq, Mich and ND idea.

How about a neutral floor game with someone like one of those 3 (or IU) in Chicago?

Didn't Les say he was looking into either a tournament or a neutral floor game at the Hoffman Estates Arena(where we played Illinois) for next year, as he said it was a quality facility, with a chance to play a quality opponent?

Dave Reynolds reported that BU is looking to go to the Great Alaska Shootout in 2009, and the Chicagoland Invitational in 2010 (in Hoffman Estates). They are open for 2008 and are looking for a tournament to play in.

You can't go back to the same tournament more than once every 4 years. So BU can't play in the Hoffman Estates tourney..... I'm guessing that the tourney there will try to get SIU for 2008 to get a local team.... For BU, hope for the Anaheim tournament.... that gets a lot of TV coverage as a new event... my hunch is Vegas probably is more likely... with 2 games at home vs. cupcakes, then 2 games in Vegas.

Notre Dame would be a quality opponent and it would also help their schedule; playing them a 3 game series with a game in South Bend, one in Peoria and one in Hoffman Estates would be great for our Chicago alumni and both programs.I do not want us to play against BCS schools if they do not wish to play in Peoria as we have come too far to take a back seat to any of those schools; we need to continue to play at least 15 to 16 games at home.

Back in the 50's BU used to play Notre Dame in the old Chicago Stadium and I believe I saw them play at the fieldhouse when Bob Carney was playing. Would be a great series to start up again.

I also have been to several games where BU played another top opponent in the old Chicago Stadium doubleheaders
It would be nice to do something like that again, just as Illinois did last week vs. Arizona.
The problems would be that BU wouldn't draw like Illinois-Arizona, and most of the BU fans would probably prefer to try to get another home game instead of shooting for Chicago as a neutral site, and likely certain opponents like Big Ten wouldn't want to face BU.
In 1970 BU lost in Chicago to #1 ranked UCLA, 61-56, then in 1971 I saw BU play against Jacksonville-with Artis Gilmore and a 2nd 7-footer (Pembrook Burrows III) on the same team, and BU lost 87-79.
The in 1973 & '74, BU beat Iowa (90-73) and Illinois (105-88 ) convincingly, and suddenly that was the end of those "neutral site" games, as it seemed nobody wanted any part of Bradley in Chicago!

Bradley is 11-5 all-time vs Notre Dame. We lost the 1st 3 games against them, then won 1, then lost 1, then won the next 10 in a row... before losing the last meeting in 1968.

But get this, though... we are 1-8 vs Northwestern... we dropped the 1st 8 to them before winning the last meeting in 1985.
