  • Butler @ Wright State

If anyone's interested in checking out our next two opponents, they're playing tonight. You can see the game now for free on the horizon league tv website:

Wright State up 13-9 with 12 min to go in 1st half.

Tight game at the half. Wright State up on Butler by 1. 28-27.

Haven't watched the schools that much, but neither team has much of an inside game from the little I've seen of this game. Hopefully, that bodes well for us.

Not sure what I want to happen here. I think I'm hoping Wright State gets the upset because Bradley would have a better chance of beating them than Butler. If Wright State wins, it'll be a big boost to their RPI, and we'd get a nice boost to ours if we can win this Tuesday on the road.

I'd have much rather Butler won. They may be our last chance for a marquee win (not that beating them on the road will be easy), but now a win would seem less impressive. Plus, I'd rather have played Wright St. when they're coming off a two straight losses, instead of coming off their biggest win in who knows how long.

Never know... maybe an emotional letdown for them.

Seems like anymore there are just too many angles/excuses for every situation.

Just take 'em one game at a time..... don't ever take the "what if" path... results are what they are.

Honestly - I think Bradley is a 'home team'. Always has been. Other than the tail-end of 06 and the VCU game last year, I still feel results will back up my statement.

Now is a good time to prove me wrong.

WOW.....43-42 is a low scoring game? I hope this is all they score against the Braves!

I think Wright St winning was a good thing for BU. They lost a heartbreaker to Valpo on Friday, and had they lost to Butler tonight, they'd be on a 2 game home losing streak when the Braves come calling Tuesday. I wouldn't like our chances on making Wright St 0-3 on their homestand. I think we could see an emotional letdown on Tuesday.

Both teams scored 15 points in the second half. Wow.

Anybody think Butler is still going to be ranked after this? Or does the one loss knock them out of the top 25?

I think it's better for us that Wright State won this game. Butler already has a high profile and will have an easier time throughout the year to maintain that profile/RPI. Wright State on the other hand needs more help to raise their profile/RPI. (Yes, I know, it's too early to be talking RPI, but eventually we will and these games count!)

Now, I think the door is open for BU, they've got an opportunity to beat both these squads, they MUST take advantage of it. A split doesn't do bupkiss, even if the win is over Butler, because a Wright State loss would pretty much negate that I'm thinkin.
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

Apparently Butler was down a key player for the past two games. Pete Campbell, a 6' 7" forward, has been injured with a sprained knee. Looking at his stats, he actually had a higher 3 pt shooting % than Jeremy Crouch last year with 51%, but I think Pete didn't make the minimum 2.5 per game to be considered for the 3 pt shooting leader list. He made 2.3 per game played last year. Maybe he got injured early in a game or something.

Also, it looks like Avery Jukes, a recent 6' 8" forward who transferred to Butler from Alabama, is finally eligible to play. His first game is probably going to be against Bradley.

So, it looks like the Butler game just got tougher for us if both of these players come back. First up though, let's deal with Wright State.

That's good stuff Ser_Solace. I laughed when I read it... couple guys look to be back just in time for BU. (I thought ISU always got the bad timing with players making their return... oh, wait... many here won't understand that... wrong board )
