Thanks MR. What a great article. The BU search committee is to be commended on making such an excellent choice!

She's an incredibly charismatic woman, especially considering she's so small in physical stature (only about 5 ft.). I was incredibly impressed to see her at the rally for BU at UIC, as well as the NUMEROUS other sporting events she has attended already in her tenure here. Sports are important component at BU and she readily accepts that facet (and enjoys it in the process).

I can't tell you how many times I've already heard, "It's amazing that I've seen Presider Glasser more times in the past few months than I saw our previous president in my whole four years on campus."

KW's article shows some great examples of how she will be a strong but personable president at Bradley.

Sounds like she was definitely the right choice.

I still laugh every time i think that Lahood actually thought he was qualified for that job, thank god nobody else thought that way.

I had the opportunity to meet the Prez out here in DC and I was thouroughly impressed. Prior to meeting her, I had heard that she was quite engaging, and she certainly lived up to that, she's a pistol!

I think it's awesome that she's taken such a visible, active role for BU. I also like that she realizes that athletics (whether you think it's right or wrong) are the best way for BU to get its name out on a much more national level.

Like Kirk said in the article, it's typical for administration officials to stay cloistered up in the "ivory tower," it sounds as if, in her brief tenure, she's had more interaction with students than many of the old presidents, combined!

I think some great things are in store for President Glasser and BU!!!
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

I have yet to meet her, but some friends of mine came away very impressed after they met her. I also liked the part of the article where she is going to review retiring Gene Melchiorre's number. (something I strongly believe Bradley needs to do)

I had a chance to meet President Glasser in SPI and was very impressed with her. It does appear that the committee did a great job and I would bet President Glasser is going to a fantastic leader of the university.

That said, I hear some people taking some soft swipes at Dr. Broski for not being as visible, but there is a lot more to being a university president than walking around campus.

From what I could tell from under my rock in Texas, I thought Dr. Broski made a lot of positive contributions during his reign. The capital expansion, including the new student rec center and basketball practice gym, where launched by him. Also, he stood up to a whole lot of civic pressure from factions around Peoria to hire somebody other than Jim Les. Dr. Broski did not back down from believing JL was the right guy to bring in. Under a different president, we could have easily of hired a different head basketball coach.

I also had the pleasure to meet and visit with Dr. Broski during one of his swings through Texas and was very impressed with him in person.

I am excited to have President Glasser at the helm, but Dr. Broski did a great job during his time, albeit with a different style.

To be correct, she said she hadn't been approached about it yet, though she has been warned that she will be. But until then, I'm pretty sure it's low on her agenda.

Another thing to remember is Unruh has gone on record as saying he would bring his number down if Melchiorre's went up.

Someone posted elsewhere that Kentucky does not retire numbers, but will retire jerseys, a slight linguistic and conceptual difference. That may be a way to keep parties happy, in that numbers being retired is a highest honor, while still honoring standouts. The late Dave Humerickhouse always got a raw deal in my opinion, despite being an All-American. Would be nice to see something done for him.

I think that it is time to stop personal feuds from preventing an honor to an all time great. A flawed great yes, but a person who as Kirk Wessler mentioned in todays PJS has led an 'exemplary post-college life and contributions to the university."

I didnt expect this issue to be high on the new presidenst's list for now....

I remember the first week of this year when we had the activites fair in the quad...and she came over and asked to play bags with us...at that point I remember thinking...wow, shes an incredibly energetic chick (sorry for the stereotypical word...im a college kid). I see her everywhere now and that is definitely something I love. The thing is...if we know the president loves this school this much...she is going to put her heart and soul into it. She doesn't look at Bradley entirely as an institution, but she considers the best interests and likes of the students attending the university. That alone, is going to make Bradley much more enjoyable.

Completely agree about President Broski. They just have different personalities. He did great things for the University and it sounds like she will also. I hope nobody's education was hindered by Dr. Broski's visability. As for Rep. LaHood, I don't think he ever campaigned for the job. His name was mentioned as a possibility as were others.

Have to agree with DallasBrave and Chico.....Its great that the new prez "style" is one of alot of meet and greet but I hope that more appealing style doesn't cause others to speak ill towards Broski.

He did indeed get alot accomplished for BU from all reports I have seen.

Besides...the new Prez left South Padre after the first win to help the soccer team also pick up a W with her there...but BU lost to Vandy with her decision to leave

The thing that a lot of people didn't like about Broski was that he sent his right hand man Gary Anna out to do the dirty work while Broski sat in his office behind the scenes. The campus expansion is one huge example but along with the others, I never saw Broski once except for a couple times on TV. I've seen Glasser at least 5-10 times.
