  • Attendence for the rest of the season

This is a challenge to all you fans that showed up for the Michigan State game to show up for the rest of the season also as this team needs your support for more then one game ; you will probably have a great time as this team is very exciting to watch so lets make carver arena rock each and every game.

As nice as that would be (coming from a fan that attends every game) you know that it will not happen...

Used to have great crowds game in and game out back in the winning seasons of the 80s. Now the goofy promotions won't let you have that. Have to say though, I've never heard it as loud as during the Michigan St game when Tom Izzo had to call a timeout. Didn't last long though, had to watch a pizza race after answering a trivia question.

You have to be somewhat realistic though. That wild of a crowd never happens every game for any college team. I'm sure Bradley gained quite a few new fans after Tuesday but I expect the season average to be around 10,000.

I bet you are right, but I don't understand why. I don't think I've missed a home game since 1993, and Tuesday night was probably the most fun I've had at a game in a long time, maybe ever. Part of it was that a top ten team was in town, but more so it was the fact that the entire arena was "into" every possesion, every shot, every rebound(or lack thereof) for the whole game. I wish we could get that type of crowd for the majority of the games. Also what made the game more fun was the large turnout of students.(They were outstanding Tuesday.) I'd love to see that on a more regular basis than just the 2 or so times per year when BU plays a ranked opponent, or ISU.

I tend to be an optimist and I think you will see similar enthusiasm from our fans in some other games this year.

Here is the Key: Are we playing in a game that gives us a chance to accomplish what our fans hope for? National recognition, confernece championships, NCAA berths, NCAA victories!

To hope for a crowd like tuesday night against Florida Gulf Coast, or even Indiana State is IMO a little crazy.

Our fans are a pretty smart bunch that really care about BU success. You give them a reason to really "get after it" as they did on Tues and they will rise to the occasion each time.

Is it possible that BU could average over 10,000 per game this year? Based on 2006 attendance http://www.ncaa.org/stats/m_basketball/attendance/2006_basketball_attend.pdf that would put us very close to cracking the top 40

I will attend every game this season... but not sure I can "perform" like I did vs. MSU.

For one thing, my voice is still shot (thought it would be better by now hehhe)... for another, I don't want to alienate the other season ticket holders around me who are clearly less enthusiastic... They won't stand for the whole game for sure, and I don't want to stand in their way. I usually wouldn't care, but I have to sit with them all year. They're all good BU fans, just not so crazy as I am...

Until the last couple years there weren't too many to have a problem with.

                        Here's an attendance-related story...
Missouri, despite having an exciting, fast paced style of play, and getting off to a reasonably good start,
are doing very poorly at the box office, and attendance is down considerably from last year.
Average home attendance so far through four home games is 5017, down nearly 1000 from this point last year.
Is this the holdover effect of what Quin Snyder and Mike Alden did to this program?

You gotta read the article....the student section is a grave yard...
in the game vs. WIU, they say less than 50 students were present, and less than 10 of their"Zou Crew"
                        (red Sea equivalent...)

I guess I should have provided the link to the 2007 attendance statistics. Here it is:
Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

Based on 2007 figures, Bradley would have ranked 48th on the list if it could have reached the 10,000 per game level.

I am very impressed with the overall attendance of the Missouri Valley Conference; it would be lumped into the third grouping:
                          Group 1 - Big 10; 12,760/game
Group 2 - SEC, BE, ACC, & B12; range of 10,719-to-11,972 per game
Group 3 - Pac10, MWC, MVC; range of 8,020-to-8,524 per game
                          Group 4 - WAC; 6,630 per game
Group 5 - A10, CUSA; range of 5,053-to-5,424 per game
Group 6 - CAA, HOR, MAC; range of 3,145-to-3,701 per game
Group 7 - 16 conferences averaging under 3,000 per game

Life is pretty good as a Bradley basketball fan in the MVC!

Since Bradley games are a community event, you have to realize that most families cannot make every weekday game.

The MSU game was a one time a year exception for me. Raising the next generation of quality BU students means that you cannot attend every game.

Tornado, that extra 1000 wouldn't have made much difference. It's sad that a school the size of Missouri can only draw so few fans. It's great being a Bradley fan, where the gray hairs really support the program.
