UNI is bad. I haven't bought into them all year, and right now they're losing at home to a bad Iowa team. Yes, Iowa has Freeman back, but they're still really, really bad. That has to be a sweep for BU.

Well, it's looking more and more like we will be taking over the conference this year, or at least have a good chance at it, and that the MVC could be a 1 bid league as well. Who knows though, it is still early.

We haven't been a 1 bid league in a decade. We won't be this year unless the regular season champ wins the MVC Tourney as well. I don't see that happening, but I don't see 3 bids either. Our 0-fer against ranked teams will doom this conference on Selection Sunday. It's been a bad non-conference performance by the league, plain and simple.

Iowa beat Northern Iowa AT Northern Iowa. Ouch.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

The last couple years, the MVC didn't have enough seperation from top to bottom to let the top garner respect by the committee.

                  This year will be different.

Unfortunately, there will be too many teams descending for the MVC to get any respect by the committee.

And sad.... the crack-pipe drive-by media will still consider the A10, CUSA, WAC, and Mtn West as multiple bid conferences over the MVC no matter what the MVC does on the floor.

Real results do not change perception.

                  Perception is reality.

The Drive-by Media will die some time in the next 10 years or so, but by then... I expect the game will be changed so much it won't matter.

is drake for real? I can't help but noticing but drake has completely dominated a few teams this year. I know that they played some reallllly bad teams but our game vs Iowa St wasn't a beat down like that. I thought at the begining of the year that Drake would be playing on Thursday but looks like they could possibly avoid that?

I'll admit, Drake is looking mighty impressive that could make a serious run at it if they don't have a serious meltdown. All of there games have been blowout wins except for the 6 point loss against an almost ranked and undefeated St. Marys and a 4 point win over a now 2 loss Duquesne. There team stats scoring is almost the same as last season but maybe there finally getting it on the D. Last season they could shoot but the D was horrendous. We'll see what happens.

I disagree with part of that...and it's not the part about horrendous D. Drake could not shoot last season. The team could score, but not shoot. Dead last in the MVC in 3-pt shooting. This season's team is first in the MVC in both 3-pointers made and in 3-point percentage. And, it's not just 1 or 2 guys, there are usually at least four 3-pt threats on the floor at any time. Makes the 'dogs tough to defend.

Heemy-how right you are as far as Drake goes-that was one monster win when you consider that ISU gave us everything that we wanted and played a great game here. One of two things-ISU played fantastic and BU played bad or DU may be the surprise team in the MVC this year,
To DUbulldog-take satisfation and enjoy it while you can, just so we beat you 2 times this year. (I realize that you feel the same way about us also) By the box score it looked like you guys put a a$$ whooping on them last night. Congrats to you

Can someone provide a little insight as to why Eric Coleman is playing so little? Last night he came off the bench but was still their leading scorer. He's averaging less minutes per game than the last two seasons yet he's got 10.9 PPG - 7.6 Reb/Game - 2.4 blocks/gm - and he's even upped his FT percentage by almost 10 percentage points ...

                            What gives?
