Sam M has already had a 20+ point game. You would put him in because he has that actual proven potential on offense. Others may have a better "off night", but Sam has already shown more offensive potential (having a 20+game) than 3 of our starting lineup this year (Collins, Warren and Wilson). And no, you cannot replace Wilson or Collins with SM.... But it is not absolutely dumb to contemplate starting SM.

Let's face it we are all saying the same thing, after JC and DR there's not much scoring. We all like the energy that TW brings and he can rebound when matched up with someone around his height. After that we are a little disapointed one way or the other. I believe AW has the talent to be that person but does he have the heart to do it or the maturity? Collins on O is an A+ on D has a little to be desired. WE and SM are just freshman with a huge future in front of them. SS and MS are gamers but not A+ talent thatmatches up against top 10 talent. RA is a ???? TC in certain respect is also a ???

Are we watching the same game?!?! He is a better defender than AW, DRuff, and maybe JC, and when it comes down to it, in crunch time, I like him running the offense more than Ruff. Ruff's idea of running the offense when the game is on the line involves the question 'How can I be the Hero?' rather than 'How can we win this game?' Sorry, but Sam M in some respects is a more mature player than Ruff, he's not as quick, and to be honest, overall, not as good at this point, but he doesn't think he's the only one on the team when we're down by 1-5 and knows how to pass in those situations, unlike Ruff...

Larry Bird is the only player I've ever seen have any success with that kind of motion. Well, I guess Larry Legend can negate my theory all by himself.
We do not want TW taking more 3-pointers, he's a slasher, not a 3 point shooter. From memory(could be wrong) he shot about 37% in JUCO from behind the arc, and if he shot that from behing the arc, I'm ok with 1-2 attempts per night.

As far WE, I say the Bird comparison makes sense, WE was an excellent 3-pt shooter in high-school, and if you look at body type it's pretty similar to Birds as in they are both very tall for being three point shooters and WE probably needs to use that type of motion for a succesful shot.

If last night's game proved anything, it's that we need to go bigger ... not smaller. The only way Warren, Collins and Egolf are going to reach their potential is with more primetime game minutes. Fast. Before conference play begins.

Warren's lack of productivity is killing this team. It's time to shake things up.

Well Amckillip, we are on the same page as far as SamM is concerned. Starting Sam would have to depend on the matchups.IMO At the very least, Sam deserves more playing time. Sam's contributions last night were much more than what showed up on a stat sheet.

I thought he did a great job on neitzel at the end of the game. I agree not sure he should be starting over AW. Both bring different skills to the table. AW seems to have a few confidence issues.

Not sure it is fair to think Ruff's attitude is to be the hero....I think he wants to win badly and feels that he can make it happen by forcing the issue. It maybe displays a lack of confidence in his teammates in the crunch of the game and I do agree he forces the issue too much at times but I would rather have him on the court than sitting on the sidelines. Ruff is one of the best point guards in the country. Period.

When it came to crunch time on a possession that needed a score, MSU ran a patient offensive set. We on the other hand countered with a wild approximately 35 foot three point attempt from Ruff. I would bet that JL and staff will work on this part of the game in their next few practices. Playing like a team went a long way for us last year and can do the same this season.
